BanBan Korean Fried Chicken

It’s about time Durham had a good Korean fried chicken spot. We ordered takeout and it hit the spot. They don’t close the boxes all the way so the chicken stays crispy. The spicy one has a serious kick to it so be warned. I would also recommend placing you order early especially of weekends because they get busy!

AMAZING Korean fried chicken. The chicken itself is so juicy and tender and very well sauced. The rice cakes are so so good The Silvanas were delicious. This place has a few items on the menu but they do it REALLY well. 10/10 coming back

I’ve tried all the different flavours for the chicken, and they were all delicious. You know you’re eating good chicken when the meat (and not just the skin) is tasty. Crispy, flavourful, portion size is great, well worth the price. 10/10.

Visited friends in the area, was excited to try this new(?) Korean fried chicken place. Ordered half crispy and half yangnyum fried chicken, rose rice cake and kids meal for friend’s son. Kids meal actually was impressive on the size and tastes. I believe it was $7 for chicken nuggets with honey mustard sauce and fries, comes with a choice of juice. Good portions. Fried chickens had a bit too much of the batters, which - yes makes them crispier tho. Yangnyum sauce was not spicy, more on the sweet side. Rose rice cake was gooooooooood and the place has a cute interior.

I got the honey garlic Korean chicken. They tasted so good. They were battered so lightly and crispy. I thought they were wings, but it's actually different pieces of the chicken coated and fried. Very good!

Fair price (just over $20) for the amount of chicken you get - I believe it's a whole bird. The best part is the crispiness. In fact, it's so crispy that the leftovers stayed crispy for the next few days even in the fridge. This was the honey garlic and I was expecting a deeper flavour profile to it. Good and friendly service.

I was very surprised to find a halal Korean Fried Chicken place close to me and further surprised when I tasted it.We tried four items: a kids combo, spring rolls, soy garlic bone in chicken and spicy chilli bone in chicken (special banban).The kids combo was good. The fries were tasty and well cooked. I would say the chicken bites were mostly batter, but considering the combo was just 2 dollars more than buying just fries it is still well worth itThe spring rolls were okay, nothing good or bad to say about them. The sauce with the spring roll was good. If you ever get them make sure to lather them in the sauce before eating themNow for the star of the show. My wife and I both preferred Soy garlic chicken. It was really juicy and crispy. The flavors were absolutely amazing. I haven't ever had fried chicken like this before. It was spicy in the best of ways.The spicy chilli was good the only complaint for that we had was the meat was not on par with soy garlic. There was more batter in most pieces of chicken than there was chicken. But I'll not deduct points for this today as I'll choke it down to a small inconsistency.Try this place. Amazing halal korean fried chicken!

Simply delicious is the easiest and most accurate way to describe the Korean fried chicken that Ban Ban makes. The garlic-soy version is my favorite and has more kick to it than you might expect.Whenever I order from there, the worst/best part of doing so is the drive home because the smell emanating from the bag on the passenger seat is soooooooo damn enticing, it takes all of my willpower to not stop, pull over and just rip inside the bag!Truly a hidden gem that I hear is about to grow to a second location in Durham Region soon!

Out of the 3 Korean chicken places that I went to in Ajax - I would rank this 1st.1) Banban Chicken2) Mom's kitchen (Mom's 2nd but it is a close race, I would rank Mom's 1st on other days and other things)3) Owl of Minerva (not even close to 1 and 2 , sorry Owl...they do have the better tasting meal).
