I’ll let the picture speak for itself. Broth was amazing, chaoshan fried prawn and meat roll was exquisite. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Will be back. Priced fairly too.

Best Wonton soup I've had so far in Vancouver. Friendly staff and service. Overall I really like this place, a restaurant worth trying and coming back to any time. They have such a variety on their menu which is amazing.

Highly recommended! You know the owner is passionate about food when you see the amount of care that goes into every detail. Cixi wonton really brings a lot of new ideas to the table.1) Everything is organic and carefully selected. I had seafood wonton, it was loaded with shrimp, mussle and ton of fishballs. The shrimp balls were handmade from scratch(best shrimp balls I've had in a while). There was a small green tomatillo, which I had never seen in wonton soup, but added nice acidity. Also there was a type of butter sauce which was simply the cherry on top. So much flavor.2) There was an entire chrysanthemum in my chrysanthemum tea. He told us where he sourced them in China. I've never seen anything so pretty in my drink.3) The salted egg ice cream was so unlike anything I had ever tasted.4) Even the salad dressing was made with special attention. There was definitely bonito broth and maybe some dried fish. The umami flavor is off the charts.5) The owner shared the cultural history and story behind the food. It was a special treat to know about ChaoZhou's food heritage.Everything we tried was fantastic. Definitely would come back again if not just for the owner's zest and knowledge.

It’s on the expensive side, especially when a hot tea is 6 dollars. But everything tastes really good. They also gave us a salad and some curry fishballs as starters for free. I also like that the tables are very big and it’s quite comfortable to sit at the tables.

Cute restaurant on a busy street. The interior was very cozy and reminded me of Asia. The server was extremely nice and sweet. I ordered the tomato soup rice noodle with pineapple. It was a bit on the sour side and I didn’t have much appetite to eat it. I’ve read other reviews how great it is here so I’ll have to try other items on the menu to give it a fair rating.

Rare find for quality Chinese food in the Kits area! The food was wonderful… a unique menu with light, comforting, refreshing flavours and very fresh ingredients. The beef radish soup w/ rice and wonton soup were my fam’s favs! Tomato pineapple soup was different, not for all palates but I personally liked it. As for dining experience - really cool decor, but keep in mind no air con + door is left open so there are some flies. Slow service and the owner giving preference to his friend’s table (ie. aiming the fan at their table only) takes a star off for me… but will be back for the food!

Beautiful decorations with good music. Food was so so though. I got the lunch special; hot noodle soup. It was mostly noodles with very small amounts of protein. The broth was not very tasty either.

A quirky restaurant serving authentic Chaoshan Chinese food on busy West 4th. Can be easily missed or passed over due to the small entrance. Staff were friendly and answered all questions. Food was good and decor was kinda eccentric.

Happened upon this well rated resto today and glad we did. They were very welcoming and good with kids. We ordered 4 dishes and they gave us 3+ complementary dishes to try. Lovely presentation. Delicious Chaozhou fried meat cake (must have with the sauce!); we enjoyed the Tianding Vinegar Braised Beef Brisket on Rice; noodles in the Braised Beef Cheek noodle soup were nice and chewy; and the chicken broth was beautifully clear and flavourful in the Chicken Broth Wonton. The salad and the tomatoes with plum powder, they gave us was a nice compliment to the dishes we ordered, as was the Egg Yolk Ice Cream which the kids loved. We will be back to try several other dishes as well!
