Cornerstone Montessori Prep School

Cornerstone Montessori Prep School is a small private school located in downtown Toronto. It offers programs starting from Kindergarten up to high school. It offers sports, music, and language programs. Teachers are caring and teach their students with enthusiasm and diligence. I enrolled my son at Cornerstone in Grade 1. It was tough for him at the start since Cornerstone offers advanced programs to its students compared to the public school system. It took some time for my son to adjust to the number of assignments, homework, projects and, extracurricular activities at Cornerstone. He likes his music and gym class. He is now in Grade 5 and continues to grow in knowledge and faith in God. Cornerstone is also a Christian school. It incorporates the word of God to all levels of teaching. One does not have to be a Christian to enroll here. Cornerstone is a multi-cultural school and caters to all who want to learn in school. Kudos to all teachers and staff who works at Cornerstone!

When our two younger sons enrolled in Cornerstone, they felt excited about what they were learning, always eager to show us what they had created with help from their teachers on that day. I find the teachers at Cornerstone are respectful, supportive, and motivate their students to learn. Cornerstone itself strongly supports the growth and development of the whole well-being of our sons in their care, and the school campus provides a safe environment in downtown for the students. As working parents, we deeply appreciate our children have experienced Cornerstone during those times. Thanks again to Dr. Ling and the teaching staff, for being a team of outstanding educators.

The staff at Cornerstone & Children's Primary Centre care for their students individually & collectively. The teachers had an amazing ability to adapt to needs of a student while meeting Ministry of Education expectations.Cornerstone's individualized approach inspired both of my children to achieve above and beyond . When my children began attending Cornerstone it was at a very difficult and pivotal time my children and for our family. The staff showed a great deal of professionalism; patience and understanding towards my children. Something to which I am truly grateful to their past teachers and the school for.I can truly say that my children's time at Cornerstone continues to be a foundation not just academically but in all aspects years after they attended the school.

Our 2 children attend Cornerstone since they were in JK. Now they are in grade 1 and 2. They love everything about this cornerstone from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum. The school integrate compassion into their teaching standards also emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons.Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. If you want to give your children a stellar education while they are nurtured to be their best, most confident selves then I encourage you to seek out this school.

If you are looking for a holistic school where your child will surely excel, then your search is over! Cornerstone is a shining light in Downtown Toronto where our 3 children have blossomed and continue to grow. Apart from having a strong academic curriculum where French and Mandarin are also taught, our children have picked up the violin, piano and recorder during music class!I must say that Cornerstone provides the ideal environment- rallying their students, with the right push, to be molded into what they are able to achieve. The principal, admin staff and teachers are outstanding individuals who truly care for the students. Pick-up time is always a happy reunion for us, where our children regale us with tales of what they accomplished throughout the day!

I have two children enrolled in Cornerstone Montessori Prep School. They have been students in this school for over five years. I am very happy with Cornerstone Montessori Prep School.Cornerstone has exceeded my expectations in fulfilling my children’s educational needs.The principal Dr. Ling and the teacher provide their students with a safe, structured, and consistent school experience. As well, my children have special needs, and the teachers provide them with individualized learning that meet Cornerstone’s strong academic requirements. The teachers are readily available to work with our family in modifying the courses to suit the needs of my children. Most comforting is the care that Dr. Ling, the administration, and the teachers invest in their students. My children have great respect for the kindness and understanding of their teachers and fellow students. Cornerstone Montessori Prep. School has been a blessing for my children and our family.

Cornerstone is a wonderful school! As of this writing (Nov 2022), our older daughter, Nina, is in Grade 1 and has been there since she was one and half under the Toddler's Programme. When she started, she was shy and barely spoke. Within a few months, even at the very young age of two, she became open and chatty. A year later, she was a leader in her own group, taking younger kids under her wing and nurturing them. Although we are not a religious family, we do strongly believe in the values they teach, and in the extremely high teaching and mentoring quality Cornerstone provides. As parents, we have also benefited tremendously from their counsel and advice whenever we felt our daughter was difficult to manage. The school offers a diverse set of subjects and activities, including languages (e.g., French and Mandarin), physical and artistic activities, and field trips of all kinds. When we attend the end-of-year performances, we are baffled by how amazingly articulate and talented some of the kids are in speaking, singing, and playing. There is also a very strong emphasis on taking responsibility and giving back to the community.An additional amazing aspect of this school is that it covers all levels, from kindergarten to high school, which is an amazing opportunity to build deep, lifelong relationships. We're very excited to get our youngest daughter, Anna, into Cornerstone next year, and we strongly recommend this school! Bless you Cornerstone and keep up the great work!

We wanted to post a review because Cornerstone has exceeded our expectations.  Cornerstone is an excellent, enriched, and, supportive school that models a family environment.  Dr. Ling and the teaching staff excel at providing individualized teaching styles which has proven to be successful with our son. Every learning challenge we have experienced has been addressed with attention to detail and continuous follow up.  Our children continue to have a successful and happy learning experience every year.  They are so happy to be at Cornerstone and enjoy school, even with learning challenges being faced, and nothing is more important to us than that.  The Faculty continues to develop and enrich our children’s learning standards.  We are so happy to be part of the Cornerstone family!

We admitted our son in Cornerstone Montessori Prep School during the beginning of 2019 academic year, after searching for several schools in our locality. We choose that school as it is very close to our workplace, and we heard wonderful things about the school as well. Fortunately, that turned out to be very positive.In last 3 years (he is in grade IV now), this school has been an integral part of his life. Though the school appears to have space limitation, the ambience is very good. The school chapel is very beautiful and there is a big Gym area where kids play before and after school and get exposed to various extracurricular activities. In addition to the regular subjects, they learn French, Mandarin, and many musical instruments through their grades which is a great plus point for the children. The teaching method of the school is unique and it helps children to have their personal growth. Children are challenged with a higher-grade academic curriculum and teachers take personal interest to check how children can be overall successful. They are encouraged to complete their homework in the school itself. In addition to the regular curricular activities’ children are exposed to several other extracurricular activities like science experiments, speech competitions, various field trips throughout the year. Dr. Ling, teachers and staff members are amazing. Another positive aspect of the school is that lunch is provided to the students which is freshly prepared hot and delicious. Our kid enjoys his school and looks forward to continuing his further classes over there.We highly recommend this school for other kids to join and have a wonderful experience!
