Jan's Valu-mart Deep River

Store is like a miniature grocery store with narrow aisles compared to most modern grocery store, traffic jams can occur if it's busy.I've been impressed with the variety of products they have for such a small store, they seem to carry almost everything a larger higher-end store has but in smaller quantities. Store is expensive, and prices have been rising, hopefully that's a function of inflation and not gouging.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Selection of products is impressive for a small town

Very small, very little options, produce was avg. much of it either very ripe or a week off being ripe. Very pricy compared to FreshCo, or Independent Grocers. Definitely time for a face-lift. Eventhough it's clean, it's really starting to look run down even with new self checkouts.

This place packs a big punch for its size. The selection is as big as places twice as big, with friendly staff to boot.Prices are at or near par with the independent brand of loblaws stores - unfortunately, that means you won't be getting deals a la no frills or superstore.Deals can be had, however - often the flier has better discounts on items compared to other independently run stores.Even have a respectable sized section of larger-packaged items (the wholesale" brand) for common items."

Isolation Chronicles: Part SixMy mom lives in rural Ontario approximately 3 hours north of Ottawa (where we live, feeling helpless to help her with what she needed). She is in isolation, as are we, and doesn't have the luxury of many stores nearby (none in fact, closest being about 30 min away). Groceries under the best of times are a thought-out event for Mom, let alone during a pandemic!With bad asthma, we didn't want her to go out needlessly even for necessities. I contacted Jan's Valumart to see if there was anything they could do.They responded within minutes of my request, professionally and efficiently. The store was well stocked and had almost everything Mom needed AND they delivered to her (30 minutes away!) Contactless! Less than a few days later. WOW .. talk about taking care of your community.It was easy to pay with credit card over the phone, and her and her team were wonderful to deal with. Unsung heroes during these times of need.I was astonished by the care and attention given to my request. Thank you, Jan!

I love this store. They are so friendly and accommodating. I shop here when at RV every summer and when visiting family other times of the year.I mentioned an article I hadn't seen there in a long time and the Manager was able to restock it and ordered an extra case for me. I so appreciated that. Thank you!!

They claimed to do a price freeze on all no name products but only after raising the price, then again when the freeze was over. Goodbye dollar burritos! The only game in town though so it is what it is.

I love shopping at small town stores. Yes prices tend to be more, however they remain open for the residents who live there. I always shop localNo matter where I go, try to not bring much with me when I go away.This store I have shopped at for the past 24 years on my annual fall fishing trip.One of the greatest things is seeing some of the same people year after year.This location has great staff.Helpful and kind.

A good place for a few last minute items before we reach our campsite. I love local grocery stores. Jan's Valu Mart is well run ship and has everything one needs.

A little pricey, the fruit doesn't seem to be in season. They have everything you need and then some. The bakery is awesome
