The Captain's Boil
Very interesting place. Crab pot in Seattle in the closest comparison. Certain thing on menu don't have prices which is a bit misleading. It is nonetheless a fun place to go eat. Very clean, great selection of food staff are nice and polite. I recommend checking it

We caved and went for the gimmick.Decor is nice and servers are friendly but understaffed.1lb of any seafood will leave you full, but the excess salt and butter left us queasy. The amount of garbage accrued was alarming, I hope their claim of using biodegradable bags is honest. Do the leftover food and shells get composted? The cost for sides and add on are high and does not seem worth it to return with the way food is presented. Fun to try just once.

Fun and tasty! Very laid back environment. My boy enjoyed it and wants to come back. Very messy but that’s part of the draw. Ok value.

Good concept, very clean place and good atmosphere for the Cambie village, food is very good and in good portion. The don’t have a large menu but they do have everything you want to try. Good side if you don’t want just fish

Probably the best seafood restaurant in the city, not to say now they have ALL YOU CAN EAT we paid 38$ p/p on Wednesday night, Basically order from 4 options, Oysters, shrimp, mussels, chicken slides, except by the oysters everything else is ordered by the pound, they bring the food in plastic bags with the seasoning you choose, the Captians boil is good but maybe order different seasoning as this might be a bit too much for all the food. You can order side dishes as well such as wings, deep fried shrimps, fries, sausages ORDER the SAUSAGES. Service was friendly, place has a cool atmosphere.

Hands down, the best sea food in town! The way food is served is very original and yet hygienic since after taking the gloves out you are tidy and ready to leave. The food itself is delicious and well cooked and prices are great. I was on a diet when I went and chose the chicken slices portion which was a good deal: generous portion, low in fat and high in protein. So everyone could still have guilty-free great time. I would recommend it for anyone visiting Cambie street.

Came in between lunch and dinner, so pretty quiet. Katie, our server was fantastic and have suggestions since it was our first time here. We understood the concept, no utensils, eat with your hands, use the provided bibs and glovesI got the lobster roll (no bisque, ran out) which she warned me was pretty small, and the fries portion was small as well. As she described, it was more of a snack then a meal. Regardless of size, the fries were hot and crispy, and the lobster roll was flavourful, I wish there was more of it! For $12.95, it was an expensive snack, especially when my xs hands were longer than the roll itselfTo complement my snack, I also asked for 2lbs of clams, mixed with the Captain's boil flavour. Comes in a plastic bag which I promptly dumped onto the paper covered table. Where's the fun, without getting your hands (and table) messy . There was tons of sauce, available and the clams were cooked perfectly. I had to stop picking up more sauce because it slowly became a salt bomb at the end. No gloves nor bib even though I'm wearing white. Still clean post eatingWombat had the fish teriyaki sizzling plate combo, which also comes with two mussels, two clams, two prawns and two crawfish. Good for first timers, a little bit messy but you also get utensils for the rice/udon. He liked his quite a bit (not a huge seafood eater) but couldn't finish. I finished off his plate as well, the rice was nice after eating the saucy clamsIf I could, 3.5 stars, because that lobster roll was just so small!

It's a cool place if you want to have an interactive dining experience. You eat with your hands and there is no plates or utensils. Moderately priced items, obviously lobster and crab are pretty pricey
