Elephant Room The

I wanna start off by saying that I have been to other day cares with my child and I have that to compare to. Most people just have their kid in one daycare and try to convince themselves that it’s the greatest place ever. The elephant room *is* the greatest place ever for a child. The backyard is enormous with beautiful trees, real grass and a big playground in it. Most daycares in the city have astroturf and a small area that won’t fit a large playground. The staff are attentive and will provide daily feedback. The baby room has the most experienced staff. In the preschool room, the kids actually learn to write their names and the alphabet. When my kid started in JK he was one of the few that already knew how to write his name. I love this place and highly recommend it. No surprise it won best daycare in Durham last year.

My daughter has been going here since she was 12 months old and I can't say enough good things about this daycare. She never had a single diaper rash in the infant room and was super happy when i would pick her up. Ms Mimi and Ms Annette are truly the baby whisperer's. The owner Jamie and Carmine are super sweet and always treat the parents like family. Ms Shamily the supervisor is super sweet and compassionate.The place is clean and all the staff members are super professional and caring. My daughter is starting Jk in September an we will truly miss this place.

Our son went here from being an infant all the way to elementary. He stayed here during Covid instead of going to JK and he is now happily going to Sk prepared with the foundation of support he received growing at The Elephant Room. I can't say enough nice things about them and all of the teachers who have sincerely cared for him over the years. It is a clean spacious building with a wonderful play yard and the kids eat a variety of meals. He loved it there :)

I absolutely love working at The Elephant Room DayCare!!! My team is amazing to work with especially Jamie, she has the biggest heart I know! You can tell how much she loves and respects the parents and children and her staff too! She treats all of us with respect and is so understanding. She goes out of her way to make sure all her staff, children and parents are feeling comfortable. She plans a lot of fun things for the children and parents and they just adore her! I would definitely recommend this Daycare to parents and or anyone looking for employment!

Elephant Room is hands down the best daycare in all of Durham! After we had such an incredible experience sending our daughter here, we did not even bother looking for another Centre when it was time for our second-born to go to daycare. We love so many things about this place but believe that their biggest asset is their staff who are super friendly, competent and dedicated. We also love that they make their food in-house everyday and serve fresh fruits alongside. The centre is also clean and very organized. I have recommended many of my friends to check out the Elephant Room, but they always have a waitlist which right there is an indication of just how good they are!

My two kids are at the Rossland and Harwood location in Ajax. They both come home happy and talk about their caring educators! My daughter surprised me one day at home saying colours in French and said she learned it from her school! Ms. Chamila is wonderful with the kids and knows all of the children and families as she greets them during drop off. So many caring educators in all of the rooms. 10/10 would highly recommend this child care!

I have had the most amazing experience working at The Elephant Room. Jamie (the owner) is always looking out for the best interest of the children and families enrolled. She regularly updates classroom supplies and makes sure to find toys that the children are currently interested in. While also checking on the teachers to make sure they are looked after and happy. It is such a positive learning environment, I look forward to seeing the staff and students every day.

All three of my children have attended The Elephant Room at the Harwood, Ajax location.I have nothing but good things to say. The kids really enjoy their day to day activities, they come home with the most beautiful art and the staff have all been really pleasant and incredibly supportive.I also find them very professional and efficient. I'm constantly received emails keeping me up to date with any changes or reminders.Furthermore I find the owners Carmine and Jamie very warm and authentic.So grateful to have found a daycare where I can trust my children are in good hands! Highly recommend!!

I have worked at both of The Elephant Room Daycare facilities located in the Durham Region for many years now, If you are looking for a professional atmosphere that focuses on the upmost care of your children’s early development than this is the place for you. There is strong focus on the all so important early socialization of your children along with teaching them creativity through a wide variety of arts and crafts and also providing them with healthy choice meals on a daily basis. The Employers and Employees have a strong bond which is evident in the teamwork and cheerful environment which is always provided. The facilities themselves are meticulously kept clean to provide your children with a fun and safe place to grow and advance.
