Ofuro Station Zen

I had been to Spa Ofuro multiple times over the years and I must say I was sad to see its state of decline over the weekend. The grounds are still beautiful - multiple areas nestled in the forest. However, 2 pools were closed for Reno’s and I remember they have been now for at least a year. The structures, paint and general decorations need updating. The bistro was closed (and looked messy & deserted) without notice and they were offering simple “bento boxes” which you could get at IGA for $15.They have an online booking system and offer “Mon-Thurs” at a discount of 2 for $90 for the baths, however they’re only actually open from Wed to Sunday. I tried booking online for Sunday to receive a discount too and nothing was appearing available on the weekends. At least the receptionist offered me the same deal. I hope they update & maintain this spa bc I do think it has potential and I’ll still be going again!

Just wow! Ofuro is an exceptional spa, you’re taken care of from the moment you arrive. The staff are incredible. I had a massage with Jean- Philippe and it was the best massage I’ve ever had, it felt like a mix between Swedish and deep tissue, he caters to your preferences - Oh and the massage table was heated!! The property is beautiful and I really enjoyed the silent zone areas! Don’t hesitate to go to Ofuro, 10/10 experience!

The good:- The staff is friendly, smiling and very present. We often saw staff cleaning the baths or adding product or things- The baths are very clean, no matter which one we took- The decor is very good looking. It's all thematic and gives a whole vibe to the place- The location is very nice. Forest all around, quiet and silence. It also gives place to unique spots, like a river place and a big net where you can just relax.- There is a good variety of bath: Hot tub, ambiant temperature tub, river, sauna, vapor room.The bad:- The website is very, very confusing- The anti slip things are all black which means that under the sun it got very hot for the feet- No shadow at all in the baths. Bring sunscreen and a hat or you will get a sunburn- The bistro food is OK. Not excellent. Not bad per se but... For the price we expected better. Also they got no kettle and very little choice in terms of tea. Expected more from an Asian themed place- The decor need cleaning. There is a huge dragon above one of the pool but it's dusty and has cobwebs.- Some of the jets in some of the pools are either not working or very wonky.- The place need more maintenance. Some hooks around the baths or in bathroom were broken. A water machine was broken. Some lights were broken.Overall experience was good. Not excellent but far from bad. Had a nice day and relaxed a lot !

I’ve loved coming here for the past decade! An amazing sanctuary - definitely getting a bit older looking, but still great hot tubs, saunas, outdoor seating nooks and the river is magical

Nasty run down place. There was no running water in there showers. The place has so much potential. Sell it and let someone else take care of this gem cuz you clearly can't keep up.

This is by far my favourite spa! We drive from Ottawa to spend well our deserves rest time there. It not overly crowed, have river access for cool off and have nice seating arrangements inside and outside. And don't get me started on the steam and dry saunas... Just amazing! 100% recommend!

This place is amazing! It's right on the river, and offers a variety of hot and cold soaking tubs, wet and dry sauna, massage, and meditation room. It's soooo relaxing. There's even a little bistro bar on site for food. We got married here (small ceremony with 4 people) and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. We look forward to coming back soon!

We enjoyed the relaxing day at Ofuro. it is a spa in natural surroundings, with several “huts” ( saunas, lounges and steam rooms) connected with wooden passes, jacuzzis, access to a river/creak for cold plunges, outdoor seatings by fire places, - overall a nice laid back atmosphere. I actually like their “weathered” saunas wooden interior, it fits a Japanese wabi-sabi concept, and the stuff keeps the place clean. Yes, there is some minor maintenance needed, like a door in one of saunas doesn’t close properly and creates airleak; and when we arrived the driving up the hill, their parking lots and walking paths around the main building were very slippery. Otherwise- we love the concept, the people at the reception are pleasant and welcoming. We will be back.
