Pho Den
Review from guy eating his way through the Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver.Pho Den is a fairly new restaurant on Kingsway. There’s been a number of new Vietnamese food openings around this part of Burnaby which is nice to see. They have a large room and it’s clean and spacious inside. Along the sides they have booth tables perfect for groups or families. My first time here and I opted to try the Pho Sate. It’s a creamy, spicy peanutty soup with beef. The soup warms the soul without being overly spicy - just enough. It’s not overly heavy either which could happen with some peanut based broths. The beef was very good as it was tender and soft.Tips/Notes:Free parking in the rear of the restaurant

Went here on a date with my partner. It was a pretty good experience. The food was good and came on time but they forgot my drink until I asked. I got the Bun Bo Hue, which was decent but not the best, and my partner got Pho which was good! The Vietnamese Coffee was really foamy toward the end of the drink which was eh. Would recommend you come and try it. We’ll probably be back because it’s so close to home.

I recently visited Pho Den and ordered the rice with pork chop and grilled chicken. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the food. The pork chop was juicy and tender, and the grilled chicken had a great smoky flavor to it. The dish had a slight spiciness to it, which added to the overall taste.Apart from the food, the ambiance of the restaurant was also great. The place was clean and well-maintained. The decor was simple yet elegant, which made for a comfortable dining experience.Last but not least, I was really impressed with the service provided by the staff. They were friendly and attentive to our needs, which made us feel welcome and appreciated.

We passed by this new Vietnamese restaurant on Kingsway where Estea was used to be and decided to try it for the first time. The interior of the restaurant was clean, bright, and spacious. We ordered the bun bo hue, house special, and friend pork spring roll. Whenever I try a new pho place, I always start from the Bun Bo hue. While the food was good, somehow I think it was just standard and not anything special.....Maybe it needed more Lemongrass for the broth? It was just lacking that extra level of flavor. And one small thing about the service - after we paid the bill, our server was cleaning the table and taking the dishes away. We wanted to be polite and let her finish before we get up (also because I couldn't get out from my seat while she was cleaning up). I think it would be better to let the customers go first then start cleaning the table......Anyhow, we will come back to try other items on the menu. We are looking forward to see improvements :)

Ordered chicken/pork & pork patty on vermicelli & pork spring rolls for takeout and was disappointed with the meal compared to the photos of in-house dining.Portion was a little small, vegetables was mainly cabbage and a little light on noodles. Meat was quite thin and pre sliced so looked more than it actually was… Whilst it was edible had hoped it would be better and I could include this place as a regular go to, however it failed to impress and with so many other good pho places nearby not sure I’ll go back. Only saving grace were their spring rolls which were crunchy and sufficiently meaty.

Nice spacious restaurant with comfortable seating. Their rice dishes and appetizers are delicious. Definitely give their ga ga nuggets a try!Their pho is pretty good, but can be inconsistent. After coming a number of times I've found that the noodles are occasionally overcooked and break apart, and their brisket is tough more often than not. Other than that, their pho is great and I continue to come back for it! Finish off your meal with one of their ice creams. They normally have asian flavors like taro and royal milk tea, which are the perfect cap to your meal.

Very tasty pho. I ordered the beef stew. The decore is very nice. I'd come back here to try other menu items.

First of all, for anyone else who worries about parking, the parking lot is massive! And the restaurant is so spacious inside, modern, clean, and we felt like had so much privacy sitting in our booth but also the servers were always within sight. Beautiful place to hang out with very affordable, delicious food. The iced Vietnamese coffee is probably why I'm writing this review at 5am but it was so worth it. Yummy. I want another one and it was $4.50. The server was very helpful in recommending an appetizer (Ga Ga nuggets), pho (house special $14) and a rice dish (can't remember, but first one on the list and I think $17). Maybe don't trust my memory on pricing, but I felt it was very reasonable and we had leftovers (2 people).I would definitely come again for all of the above and also for the relaxed atmosphere and spacious booths. Great spot to catch up with friends and talk for hours.Edit to add: they served my drink with a plastic straw, so if that matters to you, maybe ask to skip the straw.

Their thick noodles are awesome. Taste great and have a nice texture with every bite. Haven't had this type of noodle at other pho places. It's an item you'll keep going back for even if it's a bit if a drive to go there.

Pho Den
Light tasting broth without the greasy/salty taste. Pho itself is on the chewy side. One of the more decent pho places around Gilly/Highgate area. But you can probably find better ones if you’re willing to drive further. One size only, no option to upgrade to a bigger size; despite the size of the bowl, the portion of the pho is 1/3 less compared to other places. Service is nice, and got my pho in 5 min after ordering.Fried wonton is crunchy and yummy. Ordered pork this time, but there’s also a shrimp option. Might order again if I’m extra hungry, but probably won’t come specifically for this (unless I’m craving oily food again). Also ordered the pork spring rolls, which is on par to those from other places.Free parking at the back, and also street parking too if the parking lot is full.
