Super helpful and knowledgeable, great staff

Owner would not honor Stihl Product Certificate despite being a recommended Stihl dealer. Owner complained about not making money on these and therefore wouldn't honor it. Too bad as I would of dropped money on all the chainsaw peripherals and safety equipment.Can't recommend going to this place for service as they don't seem to be interested in getting new customers.

UpdatedWhat a difference a day and staff member make. A phone conversation with Sooke Power Supply last week was so surprisingly helpful that it was worthwhile loading my Honda mower into the car and head out from Victoria this week. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true as a different staff member at the store (apparently the owner) was the exact opposite of helpful. Sadly, indifferent customer service is why online sales are booming and some local businesses suffer. From the prospect of exemplary 5+ stars to a dismal 1 as a result, as well as a lost sale and customer.Response to owner’s comment:You “explained” no such thing to me. This was a simple rounded bolt extraction that either of the two of you there could have done in about 60 seconds with the proper socket undoubtedly in your pro tool kit but couldn’t be bothered to do.

Awesome older guys run the place. I am semi retired but still do commercial work. I bought a new mower from them a few years ago. Still runs great. I am actually from Victoria. I found there prices cheaper and there service quite good so I go out there now. Its worth the trip.

The gentleman at the counter was very knowledgeable and helpful. I explained to him what I wanted a chainsaw for, where I was going to be living and what kind of logs I was going to be cutting. He took the time to walk me through a few different options and explained the differences between the different saws. He made me feel confident that I chose the right saw. He was also able to provide parts for my other chainsaw. Excellent customer service

Continuing electrifying- got our new battery self propelled Stihl mower. It meets every cutting need and no fuel.

I give 1 star for having a great range of items in their showroom and friendly service.I take 1 star off for installing a new chainsaw bar incorrectly.Minus 2 stars for charging me full price to attempt to get my generator running. Service department missed a important part that required replacing which resulted in me having a generator that still does not run.Minus 1 star for charging a neighbor full price to work on a weed eater which once gotten home had the same problem it had when it was taken in for service. When the neighbor took it back to Sooke Power he was charged only for the new part which should have been replaced the first time.Frustrating for any person to take a broken piece of equipment in to get repaired, pay for the repair in good faith only to find out after getting home that the repair was not completed properly.Would I purchase another chainsaw from them again?Yes I would. The brands they carry are second to none.Would I use their service department again?Probably not unless things were made right with me.
