The only reason I agreed to lens replacement surgery was because I had cataracts and therefore needed surgery regardless. I never felt I would agree to have my eyes operated on. I am so glad that I did! For the first time in 58 years I no longer wear glasses. Everything went so smooth. I had both eyes done. No pain AT ALL. The biggest complaint is having to use eye drops for 4 weeks after surgery. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Boyd to anyone. He and his staff were great. Just wish I had this surgery done earlier in life. I wasn't in a rush so I waited for the procedure to be done in the hospital. My son-in-law however had his surgery done in Dr. Boyd's office and he too is just as happy as I am.

Dr Boyd examined my eyes for the pre consultation, he was thorough and answered all my questions. He was also forthcoming when advising of my eye conditions he observed and their associated risks. The appointment was not long at all, but he did not end it before making sure I had no more questions.All the reception staff were great, a special shout out to Sara who diligently responded to most of my relentless emails.My surgery was performed as described, a month later my vision is just shy of perfect and recovery is great despite slight delays due to my pre existing conditions. 100% recommendI do agree with some less kind reviews that the reception area is not large and there was definitely a wait between my appointment time and when I was seen. I believe that is the standard for any health care service in BC, and probably won’t change for the better with our current provincial health model/government/supply.

If you wish to know how Dr. Boyd is truly like in his craft, do yourself a favor and first read up on the negative reviews. His support staff are all pleasant but he and his specialists are very dismissive. I had my vision destroyed worse than how it was prior to the procedure and follow ups can take up to half a year at a time! Now I have to live with frequent headaches, dry eyes, daily eye drop applications, blurry vision, pain and the sensation of having something stuck in my eye forever. I should have gone with my better judgement and forked over the extra cash to see someone else, such as Lasik MD. Don't make the same mistake as I did and be the next victim just to save a bit of money -- you only get a pair, so it's worthwhile to pay for higher quality surgery!

The doctor who was an old man with glasses (I assume Dr. Boyd) was incredibly unpleasant. My mother had an appointment and I went with her because she isn’t the most comfortable with english (but still fluent). He would be completely dismissive over questions or concerns she had. The way he spoke made it seem like he was rushing us to leave and was bothered we were there. The employees (the lady at the desk and the one who took the photos) were very respectful and polite. However, his attitude made the overall experience uncomfortable.

Dr. Boyd is an excellent ophthalmologist, caring and effective, we couldn't ask for a better doctor. My Mom needed a cataract surgery on both eyes, so dr. Boyd did a great job. The staff is very frendly, professional and extremely helpful. THANK YOU!

I can not tell you how pleased I am with the result of my cataract surgery. My vision is better than it has been for a very long time. The procedure was fast and efficient and entirely painless. Dr. Boyd was incredibly professional but also calm and kind. I found that comforting. I would be very pleased to recommend him to my friends and my family.

The staff has poor time management and time schedules. My first experience to get doctor opinion. Appointment 9:30am and by 10:30 still waiting. See doctor for less than 5 minutes then schedule to see him in December. OMG!!! The office is small crowded with lots of patients waiting some are kneeling some are standing there already 10 chairs sitting with patients. This office has old technology equipments. The doctor is tired and not young any more. I will not risk my eyes vision. Hopefully.

Had cataract surgery done by Dr. Boyd about a year ago now and am very pleased with the results. As a pilot I was weary of any surgeries around my vision, but he is the one other physicians use for themselves which says something. Known as being an excellent surgeon, I would recommend him to anyone.
