Yellowhead Veterinary Clinic

We met with Dr. Kendra Doornenbal and the team at Yellowhead Veterinary Clinic today for vaccinations and a general health check for our 4 year old dog Cooper. Dr. Kendra was recommended to us by Colleen McCarvill, CDBC. Cooper has complex emotional and behavioral needs, so finding a veterinary team that understands and priorities the emotional experience of the animal and of the guardian was of primary importance to us. Dr. Kendra had reviewed Cooper's records prior to our arrival and presented a minimally invasive plan for sedation in the parking lot using a 'walk-by' technique. Dr. Kendra's understanding of complex companion animals and her confidence in execution resulted in Cooper being unaware of her presence and completely non-reactive while the sedation was administered. Dr. Kendra completed a full examination, vaccinations, and a blood draw, answering all of our questions thoughtfully. We left the clinic today with a concrete plan for both routine and emergency veterinarian care for Cooper after three years with no options for veterinarian care that adequately met Cooper's needs. They are so responsive and wonderful. Their team is top notch and the prices are very reasonable. They helped my, Millie, get through her pregnancy and with all the pups and continue to work with my dogs, for regular check-ups.One of our pups had Puppy Strangles and they got us in so fast and we sorted everything out and all the pups and Millie are doing great, thanks to all their help.Very professional and knowledgeable.

This clinic has been such a good place for our family! We have been with them for 7 years nows. Dr. Doornenbal and her staff are always extremely professional, knowledgeable and super loving! Everything is always explained really well so you know exactly what is going on with treatments and care. You can be sure you're in good hands with these amazing people. Our animals are our family members and I would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone!

Amazing Clinic.The Yellowhead Veterinary Clinic is a new Clinic for us. I was looking for a Clinic that understood the importance of going slow, and working WITH my pets. Meeting them where they are emotionally and helping them, if required, to improve their feelings about what could otherwise be, a very stressful, albeit necessary part of life for our pets.This Clinic goes over and above.Apon arrival, they require that each client text them from their vehicle. They will let you know when the waiting room is clear and invite you in.If I had a nickel for every time that entering a busy Veterinary Clinic waiting room caused anxiety for everyone present, well... I'd have a heck of a lot of nickels. LolAfter having you weigh your own dog, which again is so accommodating to most dog's need for acclamation, they take you into a clean room where you wait for your Veterinarian or RVT. I believe the longest I've waited this 3 or 4 minutes.Our RVT today was Christine. Not only was she extremely thorough, making sure all of my questions were answered (and questions I hadn't even thought to ask), but she was kind and patient and took her time with my puppy.Our Golden was neutered at Yellowhead as well and we took advantage of their Chill" program. Our Golden had pre-meds. at home that allowed him to feel so relaxed throughout his visit. Even if a pet is slightly uncomfortable

Everyone at the vet clinic were amazing to us and my dog when we went here. I highly recommend them and will be using them in the future as well

Been here a few times with my mum's pets today was the first time I brought one here it was really nice treated my baby with respect gave him treats and answered many questions. We brought Rune in for his first shot and will be back for his others.Thank you for taking care of us Ed and staff.

We have been so pleased since switching over to Dr Kendra, and her team of caring staff. We trust her opinion, as well as, the care we receive from her and the other veterinarians. They have always offered options for different levels of treatment, and have always been forthcoming with the cost of services. I appreciate receiving phone calls checking in with us after our dog has had a procedure. Our dog is a treasured member of our family, and we place a high value on taking him into an environment where we know he is treated with the utmost care. As a customer, I love walking into an office that is friendly and inviting.On a side note…I love the Pet Desk app so I can refill our Sr. Boy’s meds and book appointments at any time (because I remember the best when I’m already in bed! Haha). I also appreciate the protocols still in place to text before coming in; not only for health and safety, but to minimize the stress of our old guy.Thank you to Dr Kendra, and your wonderful team of awesome humans!

I take my dogs here if they need medical attention, without hesitation they are my first call. They take the time to explain so you have full understanding, provide options for care/treatment and are diligent with following up, making sure once you are home you have no issues. They make you feel like they care about both you and your pet. Love this place!I had to go back again the other day and they have a new Veterinarian there, Dr. Daryl Meger. Without a doubt, the BEST Veterinarian ever. After seeing him, there is nobody else I want my dogs seeing. The care and level of attention he gives is unlike anyone else. Good on you for bring in a first class doctor to your clinic. Knowing he will be the one looking after my dogs gives both me and my dogs comfort and makes the stress disappear.Saw Dr. Boornenbal today for Benji’s back spasm. Very happy with him, he’s a great veterinarian that shows kindness and care and full of knowledge. I’m very comfortable with him in the event Dr. Meger is unavailable.
