I have a set of bib style snow pants I ordered online. I absolutely love them except for the bottom of the pant legs. There is a large flap with a patch of velcro at the bottom about 1inch square allowing me to make the pant tight around my snowmobile boots. In deep snow it doesn't hold and so I came up with the idea to stitch heavy duty velcro almost 2in wide up the whole side of the flap. We tried at home and only broke needles . I went to Thompson and explained what I wanted done, showing her how I wanted it stitched making sure to several times tell her I want it all double stitched at the minimum because I'm hard on things and I want it to stand up. I supplied the velcro. The girl was very pleasant with me, not a complaint there. But I didn't feel like she listened to me, and I was right. My wife was going up on the hill and she picked the snow pants up for me. I was looking at them and instantly noticed that not 1 inch was double stitched, and the stitching even falls short of making a complete loop on one leg. We were charged almost $40 to do 80 inches of single stitch not the double stitch I asked for . Probably 10 minutes work as the velcro was on 1 leg already with adhesive and only needed to be stitched and the second leg already had the velcro cut ready to go. I was ok with the $40 if I got what I wanted. I would not have paid $40 for what I got. So far, extremely unhappy with that. I intend on giving them a chance to make it right and put the double stitching on, it would have taken so little time to do if she had listened to what I was saying. I do not intend on paying more because they didn't get it right.I was contacted by Thompson cleaners and was told to bring them in to be finished the way I want while I wait . I am impressed they contacted me before I had a chance to reach out to them, obviously they care about what people feel and watch their reviews. when a business doesn't meet a customers expectations, and it happens, I don't think anyone can ask more than an eagerness to make it right and stand behind their work. I respect that kind of work ethic, and gives me confidence that I'll walk away happy. I'll return.

At first, I thought the owner was just rude and impolite because he wasn't friendly. But then, I noticed that he was treating me differently from other customers. I didn't like how he talked to me because it felt like he was talking down to me. Not sure if he was racist or discriminating. This kind of business might only do well in small towns like Kamloops where there aren't many options. I'm used to better service and prices in Toronto.To the owner: Although I asked if you could give me a faster delivery in the same price, I would have eventually paid the full amount if you would have been nice. But just to be very clear, my review has nothing to do with the money. It is strictly about your behavior with me from the very beginning.

Incredibly friendly staff/owner. I brought a dress in to be shortened. It was my first visit and my experience was very positive. 1 week turnaround, dress hemmed nicely and to my specifications. Will definitely recommend to friends. Thanks!

When I lived in Kamloops I went here every week for my laundry. I’d drop it off and they did the rest. Absolutely the best!! If there was an option for more than 5 stars they would get it for sure! One time I even opened my clean laundry bag at home and didn’t realize my husband left money in his pants pocket and they had neatly put the $50 bill in the bag for me. Super trustworthy. Wonderful owner..they always went above and beyond….miss seeing you!Danielle and Donny

If you live in Kamloops and you or someone who needs a dry cleaner, that means you are a busy person with a busy life. This is the only place I would ever take my dry cleaning and alterations, you should too.

Alex was very kind and professional. He had the alteration of 3 pairs of pants completed for me in less thank 3 hours as I said I needed them for the weekend. Alex and the other staff were very polite. Will definitely be going back for all my alterations in the future.

I have been using this business for alteration’s regularly. I like when i go in to grt clothes altered i receive a smile this is important to me. The quality of work altering my clothes is exceptional he’s won many business awards here in town.. i don’t have one bad thing to say. You want quality alterations you have to pay

I left this place disappointed and almost in tears because of how I was treated. I am not one for confrontation and have never left a 1 star review before, but this experience was next level terrible! I took a dress in to be altered and agreed upon what needed to be done. When I came in to pick it up I tried it on and there were a couple of small things I was not happy with, as it seemed quite rushed and unfinished. I was very calm and respectful when asking for a few changes. The guy there, whose name I didn't catch, took the dress back in a huff and quickly sewed the other edge. I then looked again & there was all this extra material that was sticking out. He took it back & cut it very quickly and then came out and tried to shove the dress in the bag and get me to pay. I said, can I please take another look. At this point, he started to get very rude and told me that if I wanted anything else done, I need to pay an extra $25. I usually would have no problem with this, but I said to him that I don't see why I need to pay an extra $25 if the original work they agreed upon was not done properly. He told me it was not agreed upon & that he did not like 'cheap' people. Eventually after some back and forth, I said to him that I have never had someone be so rude to me before, to which he responded I am rude to rude people". I paid for it

The job was supposed to be 3 weeks but picked it up after 3 days. That was awesome and the repair was done very professionally on my favorite purse that needed a new zipper. This business is awesome and I have and will recommend them ti my friends and family. Thank you.

I have a retro-style dress that had a zipper on the side that came apart. Since I didn't use the zipper anyway, I asked Thompson Cleaners & Tailors if they could simply remove the zipper and sew the side together. They did it perfectly and it was done three days early and at a very reasonable price. I have several dresses in the same style (but the zippers are not broken) that I will be taking in to have the zipper removed and the dress sewn together.Fabulous work and excellent customer service! Thank you SO much!(In case you couldn't tell, these are my FAVOURITE dresses!)
