Barnabas Landing

A pretty amazing view from this beautiful island on the coast of BC. As part of the week long Family Camp, there are a variety of things to see and do here. We’ve taken advantage of some great hiking opportunities to see spectacular views from both sides of the island, rode tubes/skied behind the boats, jigged off the dock for fish, toured the Barnabus farm and enjoyed a variety of fabulous foods.They provide all the amenities you’d expect at home from wifi to flush toilettes, in room fans (no A/C, although that’s not really needed) and sleeping comforts/arrangements to exquisite meals fit for dignitaries!Speaking of food... they roast their own coffee beans here on the island, (they’re sourced fair trade, organic and clay patio dried) and there’s a well on the property for their drinking water. They also have a farm on premise where they grow a variety of vegetables in a greenhouse, gather from nearly a hundred chickens (it’s quite far off so you don’t hear any of the farm critters) and black berry bushes EVERYWHERE)!There are a variety of rooms to stay in that all have their own washrooms and buildings for meeting areas. The staff have been very welcoming. They’ll look after your kids while you’re in group/circle time getting to know each other (if you’re into that) and sharing ideas or discussing various topics from the weekly speaker.We saw a couple seals, a moon jellyfish and had an opportunity to see some bioluminescence/phosphorescence at night. Truly astonishing!There’s an on-site general store where they sell gourmet coffees and ice cream treats, they welcome everyone and anyone (islanders, locals or world travelers) who’d come by for refreshments.If you have an opportunity to bring your family here, you should. It’s refreshing for all your senses and the soul. I will admit, the speakers vary and some can be quite Pentecostal/charismatic so be prepared. :)

An oasis on the middle of life's difficulties. The food was upscale and delicious! The staff were amazing. Loved the attention to details like rolled blankees for chairs inside and outside. The view is breathtaking and God's presence was very real.

Barnabas is amazing! From the moment you step on the property you are greeted by their amazing staff. Their accommodations are unreal, it feels like you are staying at a luxurious conference centre. The attention to detail, like the flowers in your room upon arrival is incredible! The food is AWESOME! The chefs do an amazing job!!Whether you are a guest, volunteer, summer staff, intern you'll want to keep coming back. It is honestly one of my favourite places on the planet!

Incredible family retreat with a view that is breath taking (and I don’t use “breath taking” lightly here). Super comfy beds, fresh roasted coffee (roasted on-site), amazing food (mostly sourced from on-site farm and apple trees etc), incredible staff, and a kids program that had our kids active all day right to bedtime. The kids loved it, as did my wife and I. This is truly a special place.

Beautiful haven, food is awesome ...lovely people work and serve here. Did I mention the spectacular views?!
