Best record store in HRM. Fantastic selection with new arrivals on a near daily basis. Mike and Dave, the co-owners, are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot count the number of albums I've been unable to find anywhere else, including online, that I've found great copies of here. If you are in the area and haven't gone to Select, you are missing out!

Tons and tons and tons of records to flip through. Would have given 5 stars but my knees are killing me from all the stuff down low and under shelves. Will go again and again

Great used selection of vinyl..surely something for everyone. I wish it was more accessible than near the floor. Taking the plastic covers bothered me and cost a star. I will pay the 25 cents and get my own lol. I will be back though. I left alot of records that I wanted there.

Pretty good selection, but the owner is a smug tool who wants to impose his unsolicited opinion. I usually deal with Dave, who is a very nice guy. He let’s me play records before I buy and always says that I can exchange a record if I’m not satisfied. I recently spent $70 on three records, but decided I wasn’t satisfied with how one of them sounded. I brought it in today to exchange for another and the owner gives me a blank stare and proceeds to explain that my expectations are too high, that I’m looking for perfection, and that I should buy CDs instead because they don’t have any background noise. I’ve spent a lot of money at this shop and have only exchanged three records to my knowledge, plus I was there to spend even more money on a new vinyl. It was one of the most bizarre interactions I’ve ever had, and he demonstrated a complete lack of customer service and self-awareness. Unfortunately, it seems that so many record shop owners are grumpy, jaded guys who have no interpersonal skills and want to constantly remind customers that they are more knowledgeable about vinyl.

I have been going here for 25 years now, stretching all the way back to my college days. Michael and David are both friendly and both gents are a wealth of information. Ever helpful and always happy to chat about their fav bands. Highly recommend this incredible store!

Mixed bag depending what your looking for in a Record Store…5 stars for their New unopened selection and their new and used pricing.3 stars for the used selection and having it on ground level. I’m getting to old to dig on the floor lol.

I went to this record store for the first time earlier today. Favorite record store now! Great pricing and very knowledgeable and friendly owner. The only negative is a lot of the records are stacked closely, but if you wanna blow two hours this is a must. Got a record with the full B side being Beatles demos for 1$!

WHY WHY WHY does the owner insist on piling mountains and mountains of stock floor-to-ceiling, making it impossible to move or find anything? Why is 95% of the vinyl sitting in dark cabinets on the floor? Why is there enough stock to fill a store three times as big in such a tiny space? I've been coming to SS every time I'm in the city for over 25 years, and it just keeps getting worse as a customer experience. I know for a fact that there's plenty of quality to be found at fair prices, but it's nearly impossible to browse or even move around if there are more than three people in the store. I could easily drop a few hundred dollars on any given visit, but I usually just end up walking out, frustrated that absolutely zero effort has been put into making a good customer experience. BOOOOO!
