I’m currently an intern at Shades Of Hope, hoping to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, and I have been inspired by this place beyond belief. The degree of medical care that each patient receives is very impressive, and every single person (staff AND volunteers) has a tremendously large heart. From porcupines and red tailed hawks to squirrels and opposums, any injured animal is beyond lucky to find themselves at Shades Of Hope. They don’t receive any government funding so if you can, take the time to think about making a donation online or in person when you bring a little critter in!

What an amazing place. We dropped off a baby squirrel we found on the road and they were so happy to take him. He will have a wonderful life. A great place.

The lady who answered the phone was nothing but disrespectful. She did not seem like she wanted to help at all, kept interrupting me after she would ask me a question and then seemed to have hung up on me after she asked where I was located. I answered her but got no response, I waited and kept saying hello but still no response. A little respect would go along way with talking to customers.

I have NEVER met a group of people that were so so friendly and kind. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I am certain the animals are treated with great respect. I found a baby robin and they gladly took him in to help raise the little soul. They even had a case number that allowed me to know the progress of the little bird I brought in. This is proof enough that are are all doing a magnificent job taking care of the many wildlife animals that need support and help. Well done indeed Shades of Hope. Bless you all.

Worst experience of my life ! Tried to get info on two baby bunnies that need help and got told they didn’t have time to deal with me and hung up . The lady at the front desk should be removed or learn how to be nice. I’ve never felt so disrespected when all I was trying to do was get these two innocent animals the help they need . Honestly don’t waste your time calling , I was told at 10 am they would call me back it’s now 8pm and still no call back . DO BETTER .

Great experience with this amazing organization. I have now taken 3 injured or displaced wild creatures to them for care. They are steadfastly committed to helping those animals who have lost their way through no fault of their own.I always make a donation since it helps the animals and recognizes how humans can make a positive difference. Consider making a donation yourself - you will feel good about it!!

Very unprofessional employee who works at the front desk. Dealt with one nicer lady in the evening time but the other lady the next day was very rude and condescending and didn’t seem at all interested to help.. she even said she was too busy and has more important things to do than to help us. If you have this kind of attitude and cold personality might I suggest not working at an animal rescue which is the kind of job that asks for characteristics of a kind heart, which clearly this lady doesn’t have.Don’t bother calling here, I’m disgusted by the treatment that was received.

After finding an injured mourning dove in our neighborhood, we had trouble locating a wildlife centre that would accept birds. We were so happy to have been directed to Shades of Hope! They were kind, friendly and informative, and we enjoyed getting to see a bit of the centre and hear about the work being done there. They are currently caring for over 800 animals, including small ones (like birds) and larger ones (donkeys and deer). Animals that recover well are released back into their previous habitat. We filled out a form and we were given a case number along with an email address so that we can inquire about how our little bird friend is doing while in their care.Great work is being done here! It is evident that they truly care about health and wellbeing of the wildlife in this area.

I found an injured baby bird at my work, called Shades Of Hope (I've seen them recommended on social media for injured wildlife) and they were wonderful. I arranged a ride (with my mother) for the little guy and they took him in right away. The staff were all very friendly and really care about the welfare of the critters in their care. Thank you for helping today!
