Aspira Cedarvale Lodge Retirement Living

Did a tour of this place a few weeks ago...building looks basic, nothing special for care, heard staff and nursing complaining about lack of management caring about the patients. Building seems to have some maintenance issues, it was a hot day and hallway was hot, unsafe for my elderly Nana. I would not recommend this place for care. I stopped the tour as I was appauled.

I have just moved my mother out of Cedarvale assisted living . The amount of dead bugs covering her carpet was disgusting! They fumigated ages ago but never cleaned up after . I had to clean her furniture before moving it into her new place as it was also disgustingly filthy . The ceiling in the hallways are cracked and falling apart from a roof leak from who knows when . There is no accountability for some extremely rude and lazy staff members , one in particular. I could go on but I won't. Yes I have pictures for proof in case you want to rebut my comments .

We find the staff at Cedarvale to be warm and friendly. We are always greeted with a smile when entering the building.Lately we have been dealing with Lisa Furlong, Director of Wellness she is a gentle, kind and caring person who has gone out of her way to help our family navigate this new experience called retirement living. Our family member has been at Cedarvale for a year and a half now but we are still learning the ins and outs of caring for a loved one with Parkinson's. Lisa has always made time for our questions and replies to our emails even on weekends in a timely manner. She is never too busy to stop and say hello if we pass in the hall. I know she really cares and wants the best for my cousin and everyone else in her residence. We are grateful to Lisa for all her patience and help.

Cedarvale is an amazing home full of wonderful activities for elders that may or may not have dementia. The Motiview system at Cedarvale is an awesome activity that helps them reminisce about places they've lived or travelled to...all while being physically active!

Lisa the director here is amazing and would highly recommend her for all your needs!

This is a lovely facility. The independent living suites are 550 square feet with a separate bedroom and large storage area. The menu and quality of food need a serious review.

I have always found the staff and senior management at Cedarvale Lodge so friendly and accommodating on all my visits. After visiting and working with several of their residents and families I have experienced firsthand the great level of care for everyone within the community. Cedarvale is truly a lovely place offering so much for those considering senior living.

For a shareholder owned and financial driven company the care that the PSWs and nurses are excellent as they pay close attention and provide great care. There are managerial obstacles noticed when visiting a loved one. The staff seem overwhelmed and stretched beyond due to the possibility of lack of staffing or proper teamwork between management and staffers. Managerial members appear to be missing in action consistently which is a grave concern. The odd thing people who seem like staff with a sticker like name tag seem oblivious to where things are or following staff with silver like name tags around like lost puppies. Never have I ever seen this in a care environment which worries me. When I approached this business for my own family member it seemed pressured to get a sale which when I asked about care and staff and if I can speak to current employees as a potential client was ignored and felt redirected. If this is a sample of how they treat third party prospective clients then the attention to detail which is required by management which is then followed through by the staff may be poorly implemented.
