ALDG Gatineau-Ottawa - Aluminium Deck, Fencing & Railings

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Substantial deposit made in Februrary with installation scheduled in April. Delay was anticipated due to Covid-19, however no word from company until I finally tracked down Laurent in June. After a few more weeks of hounding him, he finally told me that the initial supplier had gone out of business but that another supplier was making the order. By mid-July, Laurent finally acknowledged that the order had not even been put into production. The new supplier was to come out and take repeat measurements but did not show. Laurent rescheduled but again no show. After 4 months of this runaround (and 6 months after the initial deposit), Laurent just left a message to cancel the order. He cited the reason as being the issue with the initial supplier. I suspect that the manufacturing cost with the new supplier went up and they were hoping that I would cancel the order myself to take them off the legal hook of not honouring our contract. If they had been honest at the beginning, I would have had no problem with this.

They were very quick to accept payment and install. It’s too bad they didn’t care about the finishing touches. Apparently they don’t have any caps after 3 years! Lol come on

Installation done but no after installation service.have 3 issues that need attention and been calling for 8 weeks and still awaiting for some to come and fix.

My parents in law bought glass railing from this company. They were able to install the railing very quickly and the final product looks great.

The team can produce massive amounts of railings, structures, flooring in less than 72 hours. Their efficiency is incredible! Proud partners in multi-housing contractor projects. Choosing aluminum is to guarantee durability, efficiency and quality.

For anyone looking to get work done, I highly suggest to NOT use Aluminum Depot. Most of the workers were extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. The quality of workmanship is terrible. The project was delayed by many months, customer service does not exist, left a huge mess behind, and more... I have been in the construction business for a while and I have never dealt with a company like this. I hope this review on google will help you to decide whether you should give your hard earned money to this company. Don't make the mistake. The owner can reply to this review all kind and nice but don't be fooled. There is another side to their pretty faces once the contract is signed.

Terrible experience!!! Visited their showroom May 10 and paid a huge deposit for glass and railings we selected there for our cottage deck rebuild. Initially told it would be about 6 weeks to complete. Terrible communications. Finally, we asked our sales guy to stop lying to us and he admitted that only Claude the owner knew why the glass was taking so long or if it was even ordered yet, but Claude refused to take our calls or call us back. Begged for a partial install for the railings that didn’t have glass. After three promised installation dates that were no shows (including once they called and said the truck was on its way), they finally showed up on July 25 (11 weeks) with only page one of our two page order, so no critical balcony or stair railings. Late August our sales guy advised that the glass arrived but three of the 11 posts for the glass were still out for powder coating (they miscounted the first time). Finally installation happened on September 6, seventeen weeks after we paid the huge deposit, summer over, kids back in school. Oh yeah, Claude did finally talk to us, no, screamed at us to pay up while the installation was finally underway. Product is good, terrible communications and customer service.

My recent experience with this company has been really unpleasant and frustrating.In 2022 we ordered a set of aluminum picket railings for the front porch of our recently completed home. After the company came to measure, we paid our deposit on the railings, at which time I asked for a copy of the measurements to ensure they were correct. The sales agent (Laurent) did not provide them to me despite repeated requests at that time.There were various delays in getting the railings to our house (shared blame between ALDG and myself) , however when they were finally delivered we found out that they had been mismeasured and half of them are unusable. We contacted the company to ask them to address the issue and have since been given the runaround, probably since they have taken full payment at this time. Despite repeated attempts to get the company to come and deal with the matter, we have not been getting responses and the customer service has been atrocious. At one time the customer service representative said he would send someone to our house, but we never got the call and no one ever came. We tried to escalate the matter with the company to no avail.Even when we proposed a compromise to ALDG such that the product which we cannot use could be recycled for another project, there has been no response. We are very unhappy with the situation as we have now paid for railings that we cannot use and have not been getting a satisfactory response from ALDG.Due to our unhappiness with the ALDG, we have decided to move ahead with another Ottawa-area company. I would not recommend ALDG to any of my friends or family as their client relationship management leaves a lot to be desired.

I've been buying from ALDG for about 1 year now on over 20 projects. They have a good product that installs easily and looks great. Thank you to Steven and the team.
