Highly recommended, especially if you already have an interest in wooden boats. The staff are friendly and helpful and their master boat builder is happy to share his knowledge and history.They are working to design a wooden boat kit that might eventually be available to order.

Was found on our travels unexpectedly. We never knew it existed, but it was pretty cool. Some exhibits were closed due to covid. The gift shop had alot of really nice stuff and not overpriced, actually it was very cheap.

I'm not sure what is more amazing - the world class quality of this museum or how quickly it grew to where it is from humble beginnings. A true testament to the history, culture and spirit of the community where it resides.

Even if boats are only a passing interest for you, this museum will be worthwhile — for the history of water vessels in eastern Canada, for the craft that goes into making them and all their accessories, and for the community (social anthropology) history museum on the first storey.Granted, the newly built boats themselves are beautiful, too.

Great tour, especially considering we arrived only 15 minutes before closing. We were given the full guided tour and time to explore the gift shop. By the time we left, it was an hour after closing. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great example of bringing history to life. Not only does the museum provide historical context around wooden boat building in NL, it also staffs a master builder who builds boats onsite using traditional techniques.
