Shannon Terrace - Fish Creek Provincial Park

Mountain Biking Review:The trails here are good, I'd put 3.5 stars if I could - deducting 1 star for lack of signage and another (half star) for a semi lack of maintenance/landscaping.This is a big network, the problem is it's hard to navigate (as a first timer) for trail-only riding. most of the really fun dirt trails are not marked on AllTrails/Strava and are barely marked on site either. If you knew the network well it wouldn't be an issue, but otherwise you end up riding a lot of pavement or gravel in between the good stuff. When I was on the good MTB trails according to AllTrails I was in blank space, which made it hard to navigate. I also ended up on a very flooded out trail that should have definitely been closed off.As for landscaping, it would seem that the park staff prefer to leave down trees in the middle of trails. I ran into many and had to dismount fairly often. I get that some are features, but there were several very large downed trees blocking trails, some were very old and had clearly been there a while. There are also many trails on the southwest of the park that are heavily overgrown, with grass/reeds overhanging into the trail- makes for wet itchy legs.Otherwise there's lots of natural beauty to be had out there, huge park with lots of trails and many other cyclists. Good day trip, just wish it was better marked and maintained.

Had a corn bust and chilli cook-off with about 100 other people. Besides a wasps nest under the bench, it was a wonderful time and the weather cooperated

Beautiful park. I went there for a walk with my youngest son. Many trails to walk and ride bike on. River besides the trail. Quiet. It would be better if there were more parking spots.

Tons of hints of beavers south of the river (but I didn’t manage to see an actual beaver)! They’re busy gnawing away at the young aspen trees.There’s a section south of the river that collapsed, destroying a path. Those walking will have to scramble a bit. Impossible for cyclists to pass. There wasn’t signage to indicate this and pretty much only found out when we reached that section.
