Lash Miller Chemical Laboratories

I spent a large amount of time in Lash Miller during my third and fourth years at U of T. My main Chem Professor was Ian Still and I did my Dissertation and Thesis in my third year with Professors Still and Mitch Winnik, an American. This was 1972 (Grad year) and 1973, my research year with Professor Still. I will add one humorous moment. One day I was working by myself in the Lab and I was using Benzene Thiol which has an intense 'rotten eggs with sulfur' smell. In my great wisdom I neglected to turn on the fan! Unbeknownst to me this sulfur stench was permeating most of the building and people were going nuts trying to find the source. When they found me, diligently working away, oblivous of the stench I had created, let's just say if thoughts could kill, I would have been dead right there and then! Great years, worked very hard and Graduated. Loved every minute of U of T.Alan Clish

Good lab facilites, can be a bit confusing upon first visit but if you are attending U of T it shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out ;-)

Old looking build feels like a 80's hospital, but rooms are decked out with fancy equipment and staff are friendly.
