I should have read these terrible reviews beforehand! A rundown of the ridiculous experience I had with this eye centre; here's a copy of the email I sent to them (to a Dr. Chan, supposedly). Coincidentally, the only five star review here, is by some one by the name of Chan. As of this date, I'm still waiting for their reply._______________________________________________________________________________April 02, 2018Dear Image Optometry - Guildford Town Centre,To Whom It May Concern:On March 26, I arrived for my scheduled eye exam, I had set up over the phone. After finishing my comprehensive eye exam from the doctor, I was told by the receptionist (Monica) that I would be privileged enough to receive a free pair of eye glasses. I told her that would be fine. She took a look at my prescription and said that because of my high vision prescription I would have to be charged. Again, I told her that would be fine. I paid for my lenses and eye exam and went home. I thought that was that. Boy was I wrong. After coming home I went to try them on and immediately felt uncomfortable. I was feeling dizzy and they were giving me a headache. I told myself that there is absolutely no way I can wear these or leave them on. They were hurting my eyes. I took them off right away. I've worn glasses thirteen years before and I've never felt this kind of discomfort. From my recollection, that I can still remember I never experienced this with my old glasses. At the store they failed to mention that it might take getting used to wearing glasses again. Additionally I was never fitted the glasses without my contacts. I was rushed. Surprisingly I was even rushed in the office where I was putting back my contacts lenses after my examination trip. She asked me if I was done yet? If I'm done I would be done right? Had I been told that they would need getting used to and had I known they were giving me such pain and discomfort I would not have purchased them right there.I intended to return them back the following day and I was rudely told I couldn't. It was against store policy. One of the employees even went so far as to presumptuously say that it was my loss and I should accept it. Very disappointing attitude. If you want to insist on dealing with the public that is your clientele like that, you won't have any repeat customers. That isn't what we call very nice customer service. I told him openly this is not customer service. You don't treat customers like that. Customer service shouldn't be like this! Your patronage is risked with such unsatisfactory and unsavory practises. Simply horrible. I told him I would like to speak with any members of your management and he gave me your email and said that I should contact you. I've kept them for one week so far in the hopes of taking them on and sadly that hasn't happened. They're still causing me pain and dizziness. I can't bother wearing them like that. There is absolutely no way I can wear them. It's been a horrible experience. I am not happy with this purchase. As I was never told that my eyes should take getting used to. And as I never had the chance to try them on without wearing contact lenses as they should have told me. Therefore I expect to be refunded in full compensation available. I await your immediate response. Thank you.Regards,_______________________________________________________________________________I will be speaking to Consumer Protection very soon. Heck, I'm even on the verge of taking this to the media.Dr. Alan Boyco - Image Optometry, SHOULD BE BLACKLISTED/BOYCOTTED AT ALL COST.

Horrible customer service. Got an eye exam done. Thought their glasses/contacts were over priced. They would not provide me with my own prescription number.

got first pair of glasses from Guilford Optic One store and could not see anything. A, so called, store manager said to try for at least 2 weeks. I could not see enough to walk out of the store. They finally agreed to see their doctor again who said the glasses were cut wrong and would make new ones, but only one more time. The glasses came the second time with same results and they said that's it that they were done with me after paying $750 for a useless pair of glasses. I then talked to another, so called store manager, Jody , who was very condescending to me telling that I don't understand how glasses are made and should be worn. After an eye injury I have worn glasses for 40 years and have a pretty good idea on how to wear glasses and how to see through properly made lenses. I walked out of the store wearing my old glasses and looking back at the 2, so called managers and they were both laughing at me. This company and these people are only selling a sales pitch not glasses. I will" be taking this to a higher level. Will advise of results. I reluctantly had to give 1 star to post"

Staff was rude, unattentative, unknowledgable and just in general made me feel horrible to be a customer.Every question I had was answered bluntly and unenthusiasticly. Upsetting seeing as I was spending in excess of $250 for glasses. The frames I wanted were floor stock with scratches on them and I asked if I could have a different pair and they said these were the only ones and we aren't able to change them. All in all I will never be stepping into this store again and I will be going out of my way to make sure people do not come here. I have also spoken to my consigliere who also had a similar experience.

I'm not going to explain my reason for this one star. I don't feel like getting into a debate with this keyboard warrior over something he really has no control over. Its my mistake for going in there i was told it was a bad idea and they were right. If i could return these glasses I would.(rather pathetic you have to argue your point to everyone that gives you 3 stars or lower)

Went for a simple referral to ophthalmologist I had seen in the past. They insisted I get another eye exam that I was charges for. The Doctor said he would sent the referral right away . Three weeks later I had not hear from the ophthalmologist so I called their office directly and they had not received the referral yet. Tried to call the Guildford office but they do not take incoming calls. Called the appointment line and they said they would have the Doctor contact me. Several days later I recontacted the ophthalmologist and they had now received the referral. Dr. Boyco's staff is only interested in selling eye exams and glasses

As a university student I got a discount on my eye exam, which made me extremely happy (it actually made it cheaper than Wal-Mart). The optometrist was really nice and professional. As a poor student paying out of pocket, I was able to find an affordable pair of frames ($60) that I loved! The salesperson I had was really nice and she didn't try to push me into a more expensive pair (I feel like this is an amazing and rare quality in salespeople these days), she was more than happy to help me find an affordable pair. There are two reasons for giving a 4 star and not a 5 star rating. Firstly I wished I would have been more thoroughly informed about the difference in lenses. I was told the Pentax innocare coating was more specialized, better clarity, multi-layered etc. and elected to get the better lens coating. After doing my own research I feel confident in my purchase. Had the salesperson simply said the lens coating was anti-reflective, I wouldn't have had to do my own research, but I totally understand that it was busy and they may have simply forgotten. Also I was never given the option of having a copy of my prescription. I understand that because I bought glasses it's not essential to have, but it would be nice to have on file for the future and just out of general curiosity.

This place used to have excellent front agents that were friendly. Recently, one of their front staff seem unwilling to help an old customer dismissing every suggestion.

Had a wonderful experience getting my new glasses. The woman who helped me (I believe her name was Alexi) was awesome and really helped me pick a great pair of glasses. No complaints here.

Horrible horrible horrible, they don't know what they are doing, giving out wrong information...... They don't even give you a detailed prescription so we can only order through them. My three sons got their eye test done from them and and when we wanted a detailed prescription they wanted to charge extra 35$ which is ridiculous. Never going back and would not refer anyone else to go there. Even last year when I needed a copy of prescription they asked $35 dollars, which doesn't make sense, bad customer service.
