I went for a perm here when they were offering a special about 8 years back. I didn't know of Google reviews until recently and I am only writing this so that hopefully nobody else ever has to endure what I did. I forget the Hairdressers name but hopefully she doesn't work their anymore. She applied the stuff for the perm and left me to sit for the designated time meanwhile she went to start another clients services. I was 17 at the time so I knew nothing about hair back then but I knew something was wrong. I was alone for far too long. when she finally came back she removed the product from my hair and my hair was burn to a crisp. I had Long thick hair and now I had a shoulder length afro. It took me 6 years to get my hair back to what it was before that day. Again this is not a hate message just felt the need to at last warn people to be careful at this salon specifically with perms.

The staff is very friendly. i go every 6 to 8 weeks to do touch up with amanda. She is really good that everytime i go i do something different.

HORRIBLE STAY AWAY!!!A middle aged woman attempted to colour my hair, she was sloppy, incompetent and lazy. Essentially, she left the product on too long, and got the product on my face - leaving noticeable dark splotches around my hairline which she furiously tried to rub off. No apology, i could not really inspect because she did not offer a mirror. Also was hurrying me out to accommodate another lady. After 5 min of drying my hair, she then asked me if i wanted to continue drying my hair, she clearly was not respecting me and at that point i just wanted to leave. She said i could take the splotches off with oil, not true. My skin was damaged, with dryness and peelingI do not recommend!

Horrendous. The hair dresser first started with my mother, she dyed her hair and a cut. She left a rim around her head of hair dye and instead of removing it she proceeded to cut the hair (A very blunt and shapeless cut) Then it was my turn. Me and my mother asked for different hair cuts and we literally got the same thing. I had long wavy hair, I just wanted a trim and she cut off 2 inches. She looked at hay and decided she wanted my hair to look like that. I had to get hair extensions because it was AWFUL. Even the professional putting my extensions said the cut looked like it was done by a CHILD. The hair dresser took no time and she was sloppy. If I can give 0 stars I would. It costed me 400$ for someone’s insolent act.

We took a chance to see if our son could get a quick trim in while we were in the area and they had no problem taking him. Lovely experience, very professional yet personable. The cut looks great too and didn't take long at all. Always a pleasure to have hair done at Tusk!

I've been going there for 17 years, the same person cuts my hair, in a way he thinks will look good (it always does) and I'm gonna keep going there til he retires.

I asked for a collarbone length cut and Allan went much much shorter. I’ve had very nice experiences with the women, but he was not very professional, criticizing harshly my hair before the cut, not realizing that I did not have the money in the last year to go to a salon. I have very curly hair and I asked for long layers, but he ignored my request and did what he thought was best instead. Would recommend the women hairdressers instead.

Alan and his staff did a wonderful job for my wedding. Alan did my hair, and it was exactly what I wanted. My mom and 5 bridesmaids also had their hair done, and everyone looked beautiful. The staff was friendly and very efficient. The price was also very reasonable. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend.

Alan has been doing my color for a few years now. It is extremely difficult to do red but he mastered it! He is a wizard when it comes to redheads. (besides the fact that he's an awesome hair dresser as well).

Horrible experience through and through. Zero stars. My hair was in such horrible condition after my appointment that I had to go to another hair salon for them to try to fix it, after an already gut wrenching $180 bill. The highlights were so bad that my hair looked like it had been bleached with peroxide - brassy yellow/orange mess! I had a 1960's helmet head haircut to boot. I was shocked to discover that the hairdresser/owner has 20+years of experience tho it appears he hasn't updated his styles since that time. It took over 3+ hours because he was so busy talking my ear off and doing 10 other things at the same time. I even went back to give him a chance to fix his mistakes but he said there wasn't much he could do other then put a toner, but at that point I didn't want him laying a finger on my hair again!! Extremely disappointing experience. I hated the cut, the color, the style but even more the colossal waste of my time and money.
