Power Golf Custom Club Fitting

I recently bought some clubs from Brian and got an experience I just wasn't expecting. The club fitting sessions took over 4 hours, but I got much more than I bargained for. It was also an extensive teaching session, one of the better teaching sessions I have ever had. Brian is a great club fitter and great teacher. Brian gave me the tools I need to be able to put some good practice sessions together over the winter, both swing exercises and fitness exercises. I can't wait to try my new customized clubs next year after I have followed Brians training tips - I am expecting to see some major improvements!

Incredible irons fitting experience with Simo. He took his time to explain everything very thoroughly, identified weaknesses in my swing and unlocked a hidden power I didn't know I was capable of. To top that off, found the perfect shaft that fit my swing, and I am extremely pleased with the results just looking at the numbers etc. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to improve their game.

The greatest golf experience of my life. SERIOUSLY.To preface, I’m a single digit handicap, played competitively as a kid, but just got back into it last year after a 15 year hiatus. I Went in with my 7 iron going 155 with inconsistent ball flight. Left with my 7-iron going 180 with tour like precision, control and smash factor. I didn’t change a single thing with my swing. It was all about finding the proper clubs for my body and my swing.I have been researching club fitting for the better part of a year and several credible sources and pros have directed me here, but only being human I fell under the spell of fancy websites, low price points and glitz and glamour of the popular-mainstream club fitters. Last week, I returned home from a club fitting at Modern Golf and was so unimpressed and disappointed with the quality of their service and the lacklustre results (virtually no improvement over my current clubs) that I called Brian the next morning. He generously gave me an hour of his time (on his day off and birthday!) over the phone explaining in detail his approach and methodology. I immediately booked for the following weekend with Austin.Austin was amazing to work with. Professional, patient, and created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. He spent a great deal of time getting to know me, my game, and what my ambitions were from the fitting. He then walked me through their approach to building clubs explaining the difference between custom built clubs and factory built clubs. You have to see it to believe it folks. It’s science. He measured the flex of all my shafts in oscillations per minute and the moment of inertia in all my clubs noting the variations from club to club and the effects this has on ones ball striking abilities.After hitting my 7 iron Austin explained all of the data in detail. At impact my lie angle was toe-up 3 degrees, swing path out-to-in, club face open, low efficiency (smash factor), etc. One-by-one we neutralized each variable by adjusting shaft length, weight, flex, etc. Within no time my lie was flat, club path straight, club face square, and my smash factor was above the pga tour average for that club. By the end My 7 iron was going upwards of 180 and dead straight with consistent centre face impact. And I didn’t change a single thing with my swing.I am beyond impressed with the added value service that these guys provided to me, the instant results, and the amazing customer service. I ordered a set of irons, two wedges, and I’m going back for a driver and putter fitting. I learned more in 2 hours at Power Golf than I have in thousands of hours of practice and YouTube research.Save your money. Stop wasting time on the range trying to hit clubs that all feel different and don’t work for you. Quit swapping clubs in and out of your bag every year. Don’t be fooled by the golf town and modern golf fittings. This place is legit. I’ve tried all the others. Spend a little more money up front on a set of custom built clubs with Power Golf Custom Club Fitting that will last you decades and it will pay for itself in money saved from frustrating range sessions and impulse buying the newest SIM model for $800 with a shaft you chose at random based of a review thinking “finally, this is the one”. It’s not. And never will be.Also, let’s not forget that your love for golf will increase and your scores will decrease. What more can you ask for.

I was fitted for custom irons. Simo is a man with many talents. He spent a lot of time with me, analyzing my swing and finding heads and shafts suited to the way I hit the ball.He also made suggestions for a better swing and better contact. I would highly recommend him to fit and build clubs that would suit you. Better golf is what it's all about.

I met Simo and the team in Feb 2022 for a club fitting, from the very beginning they were very transparent about their process, and provided both anecdotal and scientific information about it as well. This was my first club fitting outside of 'big box stores,' and I have say I was thoroughly impressed. I was mainly interested in getting the best feeling clubs, while also seeing if I could gain any improvements in performance from the new equipment. The Power Golf team made this happen very easily. Using the GCquad (which I use as well) I knew they were getting the most accurate data, and they had a good selection of equipment to trial as well. They helped me see that I prefer to have every club feel the same when I swing it (frequency/MOI matching), which really helped me with consistency, and I believe is one of the key factors that helped me lower my handicap index from 6.4 to 2.8. I was fitted for irons and a driver, but I wish I would have done a full bag fitting....and unfortunately given that Power Golf was so far away from me (about 3.5 hours) I decided to try other fitters closer to home (including in the USA) for my fairway woods, but none of them took the time and care that Power Golf did, and the other businesses mainly used swing weight matching instead of frequency/MOI. Overall, I firmly believe that Power Golf will give you a truly individualized fitting experience and find you the best equipment for your game. You feel/know they really care about their business and take pride in the products/service they offer. The 'icing on the cake' is that Simo is very approachable, responds to emails very quickly, and is extremely customer-centric...he takes amazing care of you and works hard to ensure you are happy with your experience, while at the same time making sure to deliver his expertise/knowledge in a kind and respectable manner to keep you on the right track.--Ryan K, Windsor, ON

I learned a lot from Austin and Simo. I never knew that there is so many important factors in your golf clubs. You can't just go into a big box store and buy a shiny new club. You're better off getting fitted so you have the right tools to get the job done!! Highly recommended!!

I have to say that I’m thoroughly impressed by staff at PowerGolf ! I first had an iron fitting in 2021 with Austin & Simo in which they are extremely knowledgeable and great teachers! Moving forward I just had a Driver fitting with Simo on May 7th, Simo was so great with me , made me understand the ins and outs about driving! I had highly recommend anyone to give Simo a call , he’ll set you up for your perfectly matched clubs . Your game will change for the better! For context, I consider myself a novice golfer and I’m happy if I shoot near 100. I’ve been playing casually for years but have never had a consistent set of clubs nor have I had any lessons. I decided I wanted to make a change but with being self-taught, I have developed terrible swing habits over time.I recently visited Brian to get fitted for a set of irons. He started out with an analysis of my current clubs as well as my swing. We then moved on to testing out different shafts, club heads, and grips to get a sense of what performs & feels best for me. During this time, Brian was consistently analyzing my swing and instructing changes along the way. Occasionally we would stop to do some drills which helped correct some of my many issues. I gave Brian my budget and after a lot of trial and error, we landed on the right configuration which met my current skill level while also leaving room to grow.After Brian ordered parts and built the clubs, I returned to the shop to test them out. I’m happy to say that the clubs felt great and although there’s lots of progress left to be made, I can walk on the course with confidence knowing that I have a great set of irons that were built just for me.In the end I had a very positive experience. I sincerely appreciate Brian and his integrated lesson/fitting approach which has already made me a much better golfer. It was well worth the money and I highly recommend it!
