Jalapeños Mexican Food
Great little Mexican place with parking in front. Located beside a gas station but once you are inside the decor and colors help distract you from the outside view. Family run, service is personal and authentic. Weekends there is all you can eat tacos which I would recommend.Give this place a try if you are in the mood for Mexican food.

I saved this place on the maps from India !!!!It's a small yet peaceful spot. The servers are really nice, Great food, very reasonable, great view of the university as well. My first time trying Jarritos and loved it!!Recommended !!

Delicious food. Reasonable prices, some meals are good to share, nice ambiance and friendly staff. Restaurant is split into 2 sections- one side for families & the other for over 21 years. Outside patio open.

Jalapeños Mexican Food
My buddy brought me here for lunch. It was really busy initially, but as tables left, quieted down. It wasnt loud. It was just busier than i generally enjoy places being.I soon found out why. The tables were full, and the takeout was also very constant. We started with a chorizo/cheese appy. It was incredible. I had the three taco meal, and my favourite, was by far the steak! The rice and beans served on the plate were heaping portions. I dont know if places usually beef up the sides when a couple of fat guys sit down, but if felt like this place did that for us! I had the hisbiscus homemade drink, on my pal's request, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely will be making Jalepenos a weekly visit!

Great restaurant. I've been a few times now.Very polite team. Tasty meals, great value.The steak meal is big for the price.EDIT: I've been back a couple more times and each visit has still been great. I've loved every meal so far. Looking forward to trying a few more.

This place is great. They have very tasty food and a nice cozy environment. The people there are very friendly too. We stopped in while visiting the island and will certainly go again when we head back.

Jalapeños Mexican Food
I read all the reviews before going to this restaurant because in Nanaimo it seems bad food is the norm. However, I really enjoyed the food and the host was very friendly. My only complaint is that their salsa could be more on the chunky side. Very good spice level. I would definitely eat here again and would recommend it.

Jalapeños Mexican Food
A weekend getaway and this was our last stop before taking the ferry back, and there was this amazing little place next to the gas station (almost missed it). We ordered a Taco salad(beef) and chicken fajitas, both were delicious. The taco was crispy and beef was nicely done. Together with fresh veggies, and a good balance of sour and creaminess. The chicken fajitas smelled amazing when it came with a sizzling hot plate, with generous slices of onion and bell peper, personally I liked the chicken better than the beef but its a very person prefernence. This would be the kind of restaurant you come back again and again. It looked like a family owned neighborhood restaurant (my fav kind), reasonable priced, generous portion, homey atmosphere, and passionate people who serves it.Recommend.
