Tall Ship Silva

In the beginning it seemed expensive but it was worth the money. Really pleasuring trip even if we weren‘t really sailing. If you want you can assist the crew at the deck with the sails if you want to become a sailor.

I booked the tall ship Silva harbour tour last minute when we finally got a sunny, non foggy day on my trip to Halifax. It was a lovely 1.5 hour cruise around the harbour. We looped down around Georges Island, up to the Macdonald bridge and back down again. The ride was smooth, the views were beautiful and Tommy Green Jr provided live music for the cruise. One of the deckhands, Sydney, gave some history of the boat and some of the landmarks we were seeing. We were able to move around the boat and see how it had been refurbished. They did also have a bar in board to purchase beverages if wanted. It was a great way to see the harbour and spend some time on the water

Had a ceilidh dance on the ship. Great fun. Good price £12 including a free drink. Drink choices limited. Dance floor obviously on an angle! Very hot, no cooling! Band was excellent.

Wonderful experience! We cruised around George's Island and the Halifax Harbour while a guide provided history and interesting facts along they way. Be sure to volunteer to help raise the sails! The crew are friendly, considerate and will answer questions. Complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate are available, or you can buy something from the bar. It is fun!

We took a 4pm trip out for 1.5hrs which it tours the harbour coast line down and back. Shares both harbour fronts and some light talking in between music regarding key points. It will give you a different perspective of the area / buildings which is neat. A selection of drinks on board along with Pepsi products and some light snacks such as Pringle’s. Interactive where they will share the sail hoisting with guests and smaller sails with kids.

It was my first time ever coming to the east coast and I knew I had to do a boat cruise. The tall Silva cruise stuck out to me the most. It was such a beautiful day with blue skies, got to chat with others that are traveling and I enjoyed the nice relaxing cruise!

I went to sit on a dock. The crew of this boat came out and we’re so extremely rude I could not believe it. Accusing me of craziness I didn’t even understand. These people are horrendous. I travelled all the way from BC to come see Halifax. This is the welcome I receive, not even an hour in the city. This crew’s behaviour is shameful.

Great place for a great night on the water. Staff is fun. Drinks are pricey but not too bad. DJ they had the last time I went was kinda trash. But. He played a couple bangers. But. Overall. They need better DJs.

Well worth every penny. This experience let's you see Halifax and Dartmouth from a whole new perspective and It is beautiful, especially at night. The staff were great, the service was outstanding and the live music just made it all tie togetherAll in all a great experience!
