I love shopping here partly because of all the neat stuff they carry (stationary, books, journals, calendars, local items, graphic novels, and more!) And partly because the staff is so nice.

excellent selection of new books for its size, if you are into literature. much more worthwhile selection of books than Indigo Kingston. the guy that runs the store is probably a liberal considering the store displays sometimes, but at least he knows his literature.

It's one of the best bookshops ever. If they don't have what I'm looking for, they'll find it. If I can't remember certain critical pieces of information that would help me find what I'm looking for, the staff will go above and beyond to assist. Plus, it's local. And a Kingston landmark.

Novel Idea is such a lovely indie bookstore! I really enjoyed browsing through the many books and finding some I just couldn't leave without ;) and the name! So cute. Overall, I had a very warm and pleasant time here!

Thoughtful selection, wonderful staff, and they'll order anything they don't have in stock. They support local authors, are an amazing resource running the festival bookstore at Kingston Writersfest, and hand-delivered books around town during lockdowns. I am a Novel Idea fan - that's where I buy just about all my books. Support your wonderful local independent bookstore!
