O5 Tea + Kombucha Kitsilano / Vancouver tea cafe

I’ve been here a few times. O5 has good solid teas, but in my honest opinion, nothing mindblowing. The price point is a bit high too. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the store itself is beautiful. I would come back when I visit town when I want to have a fix of good oolong, but I do wish that I get to control my own pot to brew instead of having the staff brew the tea for me. The whole pleasure of tea drinking/gong fu cha is touching the pots, brewing the tea and, smelling the lid.

I had a great time here. Excellent personnel, wonderful tea selections, and a really peaceful setting. Along with Pu-Reh, we ordered Cherry Leaf tea. Both were truly fantastic.

Good tea, great experience. I think the pricing is fair compared to other coffee & tea places, especially considering this is more unique. It's cute that they serve each steep in a chahai, although a bit awkward to constantly ask for more steeps (you pay for the leaves, not per steep, and green tea can be steeped at least three times).I do wish this place was more accessible - the staff are frequently busy and don't greet you on entering, and the menu is confusing as a first timer since you can't tell what the difference is between the options. It might help to include a few details such as tasting notes. The staff do give recommendations, as their entire stock of teas is available for serving.I'd love to see a menu for special drinks such as the iced matcha featured on their Instagram!

My go-to place for tea in Vancouver. Laid-back and staffed with highly knowledgeable people passionate about tea.You can just come by, get a tea kettle going on and chill around multiple steeps.Any tea amateur in the surroundings should stop by!

This place is really lovely, the bar is an amazing space to share some tea over conversation. The staff are incredibly passionate about tea, and the passion is contagious. Will be making regular stops into this gem now

The real deal when it comes to matcha! We had heard great things and O5 did not disappoint. The staff were serious matcha masters and we got an education on the nuances of flavours and origins of different types of ceremonial matcha. My wife and I tried the Gen Ryu, then the Konomi Usucha and finally the acclaimed Asahi by Tsuji worth more than silver" drunk by Japan's Emperor and Prime Minister. The visit was totally worth it and absolutely delicious."

Absolutely wonderful experience here -- so glad my husband and I stopped in on a whim. The atmosphere is tranquil and seems to transport you to another time and place. The teas were excellent, and the staff were so friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. I'm trying to learn more about tea and they took the time to answer all my questions and suggest new teas to try. Will definitely be back!

I love this tea house! Friendly staff, great tea selection, kombucha on tap, and a cool bar to sit at. I ordered an oolong tea and my friend had the kombucha sampler.

Lovely space; friendly, knowledgeable staff! Tried two tea kombuchas, a (very) traditional matcha (intense), and a Korean oolong. They grind the match themselves (not on this 350-year-old grinder pictured, but they have one handy because why not). As I understand, the owner is an ad man who did a lot of business in Beijing and at some point became so obsessed with tea he opened this little haven, a stroll from Kitsilano Beach. Reommend.

Love this tea bar! They have a wide selection of quality teas from various countries. Tried their guided tasting tour which was fantastic. Staff are very knowledgeable on how to specifically brew each tea, the origins and flavour profiles of each tea. Staff were very nice and each has their own cool story.Tried their kombucha as well which was amazing.Highly recommend going for a tasting.
