Quebec Vipassana Meditation Centre

The Vipassana technique is amazing. The center needs funding for better functioning. Being a center promulgating compassion and kindness as per Buddha, I found it is more required among the management towards meditators.

I did my first course here. So much Metta to all the servers and staff and my teacher. Such a beautiful surreal experience.

I spent 10 days retreat at this centre. but instead of commenting on my course I took there, I will comment on the place and service. The centre is very clean and organized. It's maintained and used by volunteers and I'm quite impressed on how good the place is. The bedding can be bit dirty, but bring your own blankets, bedding covers and pillow covers. I am a foodie and a hardcore meat eater. But I had amazing Vegterian food and I didn't even miss meats during my retreat.If you ever have uncomfortable pains or anything when meditating, please let teacher know or mention it in your application. They are really good at accommodations - I am saying this as a deaf person. I was also their first meditator who was deaf. But they did so great. So don't get discouraged from another review below.Hope you will have a great time. May all beings be happy!

Francais English - im vegan for 2 years and love the peacefull ethical ecological cheap minimalist kind generous caring attitude related to all of this! Ahimsa ! I am not surprised that this property has become a place for meditation. I was a student for five years in the 80s here when it was Sedbergh. After reading the comments it seems not much has changed, even then the classrooms had good and bad scholastic attributes, the dorms for want, the food mediocre etc., however the surroundings are immaculate and exceptional in nature and I witnessed all four seasons for five years in my youth, until I graduated. I climbed, walked, ran, swam, chopped, carried, played, paddled, skied, you name it and even flew all around the splendid grounds. And I often found myself daydreaming, staring out the window at the wilderness during class, even scolded for it. This time of year is particularly special, teaming with life in spring as flocks of Canada geese return to their summer feeding grounds by the droves, truly remarkable.

May all beings have the courage to free themselves. And be happy.

Very Good centre - Good facilities and good people serving the participants with devotion. Lot of upgrades planned for the future.

Great facility for the the 10 day Vipassana course. The walking trails are nice as well. Instruction is in English from Goenka followed by the French translation.
