I've been on a waiting list since 2016, they didn't contact my caseworker at AIDS Vancouver in 2017 and apparently I lost my turn and it's 2023 and I'm still on a waiting list. It's very corrupt just like the BC Housing and other government institutions are, the housing complex feels like being a prisoner so understandably most clients end up moving to better housing but the clients on the waiting list are still affected because there aren't enough units being built or available. In the meantime, I got married and I am also expecting in a year to have to house my mother, but they won't add them to my client profile until they get their SIN and I have to ask, what the heck are they doing to prevent homelessness?
