Carole was the sweetest and easiest to work with. She made my dress look exactly how I envisioned it and she also gives the best advice!

tl;dr: Miscommunication resulted in an unsatisfactory hem and a last-minute scramble for shorter shoes, although other alterations were good.I brought my dress to Carole to be altered for my September 2022 wedding. Several changes had to be made, including shortening the straps, hemming, and adding a bustle. First off, the quality of the alterations was excellent and she did a wonderful job hiding the bustle points. However, there were issues in the hemming of the dress. We never actually talked through the specifics of how the hem would be done, which we should have because it turned out Carole and I had different opinions. My dress had a few layers, and Carole hemmed the outer layer to the right length and each layer shorter to show off the details and maintain the original layering, but the end result is that the liner was shorter and much of my foot was visible when standing (first photo). I have never seen a bride with a floor length gown with her feet out standing during the ceremony, and to me it looked awful. I wanted (and thought the standard was) something like the second photo where the liner is full-length and the feet/shoes are minimally visible. At this point, it was two weeks before the wedding and there wasn't really a way to alter it to fix since only the middle layer could be let out and would not fix it. I was able to achieve the look I wanted by switching to flats, although then the top layer was longer than it really should be and a tripping hazard. I think the liner should have just been left full-length and not what she did, although I should have asked her for specifics rather than just assuming we had the same idea. I picked up the dress two weeks before my wedding and had to scramble to find flats (and I really didn't want to wear flats). The other issue is that my dress had a gap between the appliques and the hem (third photo), and Carole said she would be able to remove the appliques to maintain the gap and it would not be an issue. I didn't find out until I picked up that she was not able to, which is understandable because it would damage the tulle, but it did negatively impact the look of the dress. If she had expressed that maybe it wouldn't be possible, I would have looked for taller shoes so that the dress could be hemmed in the gap. I also wish she had told me when she realized it would be an issue, instead of going ahead with a different plan without telling me. All in all, I cried when I picked up my dress, which was disappointing. However, I think the hem issue would have been avoided if I had asked her how she was going to hem it, I just hadn't even realized how the layers were originally and it never occurred to me that she would hem the liner shorter because I just don't think it looks right at all.

Do yourself a favor and have Carole alter your wedding or grad dress. She immediately makes you feel like you are in a safe, caring and professional environment. My wedding dress turned out absolutely perfect, and I was a very nervous bride worried about the length of my dress being too short after alterations. 100000% would recommend Carole to all future brides!

Carole is talented beyond words!! If you have a dress that you need altered you can trust that Carole will do a PERFECT job! Her attention to detail is unbelievable! She truly cares about her brides and ensuring they look amazing on their special day. I even brought jewelry choices so she could help me decide what looks best! I live in Kelowna but it was well worth my timeto drive out to lake country to have my dress altered. Would recommend again and again!

My fabric for a bridesmaid’s gown was a difficult one to work with. It took a few sessions to get it just right, and Carole was such a pleasure to work with. She’s warm and makes you feel confident. I appreciated her attention to detail so much, and she was very reasonable. Would definitely use her again!!

Working with Carole on my wedding dress alterations was absolutely wonderful. My fittings started around a time when everything else wedding-planning related was very stressful and going to my fittings was the one thing I looked forward to. Carole made me feel at ease from the get go and is just a delightful person to be around! Not only was she able to squeeze me and my TWO DRESSES into her schedule during prom season, but she also made me a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind veil to complete my look. Carole definitely played a huge role in making our wedding day as beautiful as it was.

Carole is truly so much fun. My dress turned out absolutely perfect and she was so helpful, explaining the process and she was so encouraging and supportive. I’m kinda sad I don’t have a reason to go see her again soon, she is great conversation and so fun and entertaining. You hear her name so often because her work speaks for itself.
