FYidoctors - Calgary - Mission Square

My glasses were recently stolen, and as someone struggling with homelessness, affordability is a huge factor. I went into FYidoctors hoping for a few trial contact lenses just to get by.Ericka and Zara were amazing, they really understood how unpleasant my situation was and genuinely cared. I was startled but extremely grateful when they provided me with 2 weeks of lenses at no cost.They’re really wonderful and caring people and I look forward to going back in the future; they have tons of nice glasses!

We visited this clinic today. I do not recommend anyone to visit it. Especially if you are insured and want to use your insurance. When we arrived, the receptionist told us that we wanted one glasses for vision and one glasses for sunglasses under the insurance from the province. To which they answered - go choose any sunscreen in the hall. And after a while, when I started asking questions and clarifying, it turned out that in order to cover sunglasses with insurance, you also need a doctor's prescription. We got a very good doctor. He took a quick look at the two. Explaining every step in detail and clarified every moment for us. After that, we were directed to a brunette girl of Asian appearance and it was a living hell. The girl did not understand what kind of insurance card we had and said that it did not fit. After consulting with a colleague, she nevertheless approved. She did not know that this was a state program. I was then offered two boxes of glasses that are covered by my insurance. I chose glasses worth $129, but after half an hour of calculations, the girl said that the price of these glasses is already $478 and I need to pay an extra $100 for everything. Where did the numbers come from and why did the price change so much, she refused to explain - she simply said that we should not look at her computer. When I asked if we could pick up cheaper, then in response we heard an affirmative NO. Although in the same miserable box they were $20 and $40 cheaper. Why so rude to the client is still not clear to me. After that, she took up the selection of glasses for vision. But when her working day came, she told us to leave. As a result, we have no confirmation of our visit, except for a letter in the mail about an appointment. No doctor's examination data, no check - nothing.

Last time I came to get a new pair of glasses and also a new pair of sunglasses. MENG was here helping me to choose the glasses that I really like and also she changed a new pair of nose pad for me. And I really appreciate her patience and her professionalism. Thanks

My vision needs surpass what my insurance will cover which means I have to be very mindful of my budget. This year on top of my annual check up and restocking my contact lenses, I also needed new frames and lenses.I believe I was helped by Shayna. She was absolutely wonderful! So friendly and approachable. She answered all of my questions in a way that was easy to understand and was very patient with me. She gave me some great advice on styles of frames that would work with my Rx, and offered some helpful stylistic opinions when asked.Most importantly, she understood that I had a very tight budget and took every step to ensure I was getting the lowest price I could while still meeting all my needs.Very happy with my visit with Shayna and all the other staff there.

Shay was amazing and extremely helpful when I was picking out my glasses. I appreciated the extra time she spent with me. She made sure I loved my choices.I highly recommend this place.I saw Dr Bunny Virk for my eye exam. He was very personable. Great experience at FYidoctors Calgary-Mission.

Thank you Dr. Virk for teaching me a little about my eyes during my appointment and looking deeper than previous optometrists have gone. Thank you Kazu for ordering my glasses and doing a masterful job of measuring to make sure my lenses work the way they should. Thank you Shayna for adjusting the fit and the confidence boost at the end. Beautiful clinic, can spend a little or a lot depending on what you want because of the wide selection.

Thank you Mercy for your amazing care . Just dropped by for the first time at my neighbourhood FYI on 4 St. The nose pad on my spectacles had fallen off. What a welcoming place, not only did Mercy change my nose pads and deep cleaned my spectacles, this was all done complimentary. The optical department is beautiful and the staff warm and friendly. Nice to have you in our hood FYI .

My first visit to FYI was for an exam, and to pick out new glasses. Dr. Virk and the rest of the team were helpful, friendly, and thorough. Today I went in to pick up my new glasses and realized that I ordered the wrong pair. My optician, Shay, was calm and immediately helped me problem solve by helping me reorder the right pair. Shay was so helpful and made a stressful situation much easier. I will be going back to FYI Mission every time!
