Reader Rock Garden

Because of the heavy storm the night before a lot of the paths were blocked off and the flowers were beaten but I've been in the past and it's absolutely beautiful on normal days. My one complaint is they were busy planting tiny little flowers and succulents in areas that were unaffected by the storm while there were lots of trees that needed to be cleaned up so you could get through the paths.

Beautiful lush green park, a hidden gem in Calgary. Great on a sunny day with cool shade all around!

The location is not bike friendly. Access up the gravel and cobble stone utility road is fun" like the Paris-Roubaix race but isn't for the average person or family. The single bike rack is not close and not readily visible from 95% of the tables

Visited the location this time for an outdoor photo shoot.The photographer was great and had a good eye for creating a story.We paused the session a couple of times to watch the butterflies, appreciate some beautiful flowers in bloom and sit when we climbed up hill to get a particular (and well worth it) view.I liked the movable benches located in some areas, the calming sound of water flowing over rocks and the tiny signs describing either the plants or history of different areas in the park.I stayed behind after the session to enjoy the park a little more and came across some hikers and a couple that looked to be on a date.

Reader Rock Garden is a beautiful hidden gem close to Calgary's downtown core. Though it's positioned between a cemetery and Stampede park it's really an oasis of peace and tranquility. During the Spring and Summer the garden is immaculately organized and maintained. There are pathways all over the place going to interesting little sub-gardens. At the top there's even a cafe that you can sit at for lunch or dinner. I would definitely recommend Reader Rock Garden for a great afternoon get away.

Amazingly wonderful place right out of something you expect from Peter Pan! Beautiful. Relaxing. Soothing. Soul Reviving!

It was an amazing place to adventure in the heart of the city.!I was just not fond of having no restrooms due to the cafe not being opened right now. other then that bring a book and enjoy the zen or s nice walk its a great adventure!!

Now this is the quintessential hidden gem. It's just south of Stampede Park, by the LRT, but you wouldn't know it once you get into the garden. It's situated on a hill, with lots of stone paths. Plus there is a cafe/restaurant. It's a beautiful place to walk, relax in the sun and even sit down for tea or coffee. Enjoy!

A tucked in garden in the city that brings all sorts of flowers for nature lovers. I love going there, enjoying the beautiful blooming flowers, and relaxing at the cafe in between or after the walk. Just lovely.
