Gowlland Harbour Resort

I stayed here as part of a kayaking package the night before our trip. I addressed the previous poor reviews prior to my stay and was told they were written by guests who had a dispute with the management.Out stay was wonderful, the room was clean and everything was in working order. The food in the resturant was good and the service was excellent. The room was warm, no AC but it was a very warm day and not much air movement. I did appreciate the ceiling fan.

A couple of years ago my family and I came here for a lovely and scenic vacation that we will never forget. We were planning to book again this fall. However, it looks as though the place has sold and is under new ownership. There were boxes and personal items on the grounds that were blocking the mini golf and other amenities. The new owners DO NOT appear to be locals and the place had a very sketchy vibe about it - which was super disappointing since it was such a beautiful place that was family owned by locals.

Worst customer service, the manager is very rude and her mood changes very quickly. I had booked online and gotten an email saying it was pending confirmation from the resort. Well our trip dates come, still haven't received confirmation, so we show up just incase, and we were a late check in due to my work schedule. No one would answer the phone , there were no late check in instructions anywhere so we actually ended up having to take the ferry back to Campbell River that night to find somewhere else to stay. The next day the manager called and we arranged for our stay that night and she was very nice and explained its a new system and that they were working out bugs. she apologized and was willing to give us a complimentary night, which unfortunately we couldn't stay as we had to work Monday. A few weeks after our stay she contacted me via email saying my card wouldn't work, when I asked for confirmation that I would only be charged one night , she got snooty with me saying well we are only charging you for one night considering you didn't give us notice to cancel. I was floored with her attitude. very up and down, Nice to me one minute , unprofessional the next, They are very hard to get ahold of and unreliable. I've read they are new owners so perhaps they are not cut out for the hotel business.

We stayed in the Arbutus House. Lovely views with a big deck. Unfortunately the only seating on this deck are 6 upright chairs. It is crying out for some loungers! The blind in the downstairs bedroom is broken, letting in lots of light in the morning. Not enough mugs. Despite these issues, we had a nice stay.

Wow!! Breathtaking views! We stayed in the Seaview House and it was absolutely amazing! Not one complaint.

Very poor service. There was no one working at this resort during our 2 night stay. No one even answered the after hours" number to help us. The amenities advertised aren't being offered. The sauna doesn't work

We have been going to Quadra Island for over forty years for camping. When our daughter booked the Gowlland Harbour resort for her wedding we were very happy. The resort is very comforting, cozy, and well landscaped. The harbour and beachfront are exceptional natural and rugged. A few weeks before the wedding we found out the resort was under new management and ownership. Needless to say, we were very apprehensive, because we were so close to the wedding and how it was all going to turn out. Well, the new manager and owner were on it. BOTH the Manager and owner worked with us to make our daughter's wedding a weekend to remember for sure. We all had a great time. Everyone keep commenting how wonderful the resort and wedding was. The resort itself needs some touch ups. to make it into a world class place. There is no place in the world better than B.C. in the summer, this resort helps to prove that.

I stayed here for two nights for my friend’s wedding. The location is absolutely stunning. There is sea life down by the docks and amazing views. The rooms in the main lodge are small, but they were clean and had all we needed. The houses on the water were amazing with large decks, and lots of space. Lynette, the owner, was very friendly and helpful and the wedding would not have went as smoothly without her! She was present the whole time to help with whatever we needed. The breakfast served both mornings was delicious. I would highly recommend having a wedding here! It was also very private which was so nice.

Stayed in the honeymoon suite recently. The view was spectacular and it was nice to sit and watch the cormorants fight for fish with the seagulls. The suite was clean but I would not say that it was a gourmet kitchen with the tiny glass plates and only two non steak knives. The price for staying there near the end of November was reasonable. While I understand it's island life"

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ACCOMMODATION! My wife and I recently spent 4 days at the resort staying in the Beach House and definitely worth the price! The setting was superb, perched on the rock at the oceans edge. Lots of space to relax inside and a huge deck to sit on outside. The management team is extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We highly recommended this resort and Quadra Island for a weekend (or longer!) escape!
