Trails were a bit muddy and slippery today.

Epic hike from the Lillooet river up to Tenquille Lake. Starting at ~200m going up past ~1600m.Waterfall right at the bottom of the hike. Pass through 3 or 4 micro-climates. Obvious forest fire area up at ~700 or 800m. Flowers, views, berries, birds and assorted wildlife all present. The lake is a gorgeous mountain ringed payoff. Not an easy hike. Especially with a full pack but worth the effort if you're able.

Long and hot! We started at the base because we don’t have a 4x4 so the hike was longer and elevation gain is higher. Hike was around 7-8 hrs going up with all our packs. The trail is well marked however, you are exposed to the sun with a few parts of the trail that are shaded. Lot’s of place to camp near the lake. A cabin is also available if you don’t want to pitch a tent. Fire pits are limited and there is a designated area to get firewoods. There are 3 peaks that you can hike up around the lake, not sure it’s well marked because we did not hike up. The lake is very beautiful, we went for a dip and water is very cold. I saw a few people fishing and people who brought a kayak/ inflatable boat. Apparently, is you have a 4x4/AWD car, you can drive up to a different trail head with easier trail (less elevation gain) and lesser time needed to reach the lake. Overall experience was good! Enjoyed the fire pit!
