Foothills Medical Centre

Care and attention has been very good on all my visits and stays. The problem I find at this location has more to do with the engineering on buildings for visiting people and patients. It starts with a very confusing parking lot that has more arrows with out clear directions. Then it goes to the inside, as soon as you walk in they have a ground and a main floor. My care in the facility has been very good as I said earlier but trying to navigate for follow up care in various parts of the location can be frustrating. Compared to say the South Campus Hospital that is easy to navigate this should be an embarrassment to its engineers.

My spouse and I were blown away by the level of care we received during the unexpected early arrival of our baby boy. We dealt with so many different people, it would be difficult to name them all. We we scared, unsure, and well out of our element as we have only just arrived in the are.The doctors and nurses were nothing short of amazing, talking us through everything and safely bringing our little bundle into the world. I can never thank them all enough for taking such good care of our little family, but I will forever be grateful to them for all they did for us.

Emergency nurses are so ignorant. They don’t have a bit of respect or sympathy for in pain patients.no humanity, no respect and no responsibility. I almost lost my dad. My dad,with heart disease, was sitting on the floor sweating in pain and the nurse was telling him in a harsh voice not to sit on the floor. He was in such a terrible pain that he couldn’t move or talk and the nurse is worried about the rules without any single help!!!!!! Terrible

Went to Emerge with a swelling finger. Staff were kind and helpful. I was provided a solution and relief quickly, the nurse was kind and firm handed, the Dr had a lovely manner and solid advice. **They are still wearing masks, bring your own for comfort **

What an awful experience. I went in for a procedure in radiology. I live in hospitals. I have a disability so it's relatively normal for me. But I've never come across a more in-human group of people. They used a instrument on me that was way too large for my anatomy. When I tried to explain my disability would make the procedure more difficult, I was not acknowledged. They caused me way more pain then necessary. The assembly line type fashion was completely unnecessary. In and out with no real authentic kindness.

This hospital is not the most beautiful aesthetically speaking and is badly in need of a modernization. However the staff at this institution from the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, social workers, to the cleaning staff, are second to none. They are some of the nicest, most understanding individuals that make the very scary and complicated healthcare experience one that is easier to navigate. I feel very fortunate to have this hospital in my own city and have constantly impressed at the level of care offered in at this hospital.

I had my first surgery at the foothills hospital today and it went super smooth. The front desk staff, the doctors, nurses resident and medical students and the surgeon were all super kind and calming. From the Day and Recovery Surgery unit, This is definitely a place I would feel comfortable being sent to again and can’t say that for other hospitals and staff I’ve deal with in the past. Thank you to all the AHS staff and volunteers for all your hard work, long hours and kindness that you remain to show.

I delivered my 1st baby this Friday after my water broke at 2 am that day. Nurses are really helpful as well as the Doctors. The building is a little old. I got a private room for delivery and a shared room for postpartum.

I had a major neck surgery done. June 6th. I was in recovery by like 5pm that day and then discharged less than 24 hours later.1. I swear the staff were soo overworked. They were all incredibly friendly though2. I shared a room with 3 other people and bathroom with an additional 4 other people (that kinda sucked). It was hard to navigate my IV machine in between other people's stuff to get to the bathroom.3. I assumed I would have been admitted longer. I'm from Medicine Hat and I didn't think I would have been let go that early since just after having a baby I spent 3 days in the hospital.4. The Surgeon Dr. Hart was amazing. He's knowledgeable and friendly. Just sucked I didn't get a chance to speak with him before leaving the city.In all honestly it wasn't bad.
