Dr. Alphin first informed my husband in 2018 that he had prostate cancer. Had surgery and has been doing well. Recent blood work showed a psa of 0.3 but he told us it was 3. We immediately assumed it was cancer again only to speak to the surgeon who informed us of the correct number. We are absolutely furious that a Dr. could read the results sooo wrong and cause us so much anxiety and worry for nothing. He needs his license pulled for being incompetent.

He doesn’t really care what’s going with you. He also acts like he knows exactly what’s going on without even testing. Get referred elsewhere, it’ll save you in the long run.

Was referred to him after a visit to the ER where the doctor made the call I needed my kidney stone removed. Took 5 days for him to contact me, where I only got to talk to his receptionist. She tried to book me in for a urine test in two months and a follow up in 4 months. Informed the receptionist that I needed surgery. Waited ANOTHER five days to have the receptionist call again to say that he wasn't going to do surgery because I wasn't completely obstructed and that I should t be in pain. Didn't have the guts to talk to me himself. I had an ultrasound and a CT scan that showed the stone was growing (2mm in 2 weeks), but he made a decision without consulting me and refused to do the surgery. If your doctor tries to refer you to him, DEMAND to see someone else.

I had a good experience with him. He's very knowledgeable and very competent. For as long as he's been doing this, he's very patient and willing to listen and answer questions which is nice you dont see that alot.

Doesn't care what you're going through. Avoid at all costs. Ask to be referred in Calgary or Lethbridge.
