So far I have been had a great experience with this place, people there are supportive during the most difficult time of our lives. Many of us would't had survived without them.

They silence any woman who doesn't fit their mold as deserving. Labled us as normalizing violence against women while stealing our pictures and posting without permission... picture of a fitness dance class. Said we normalized violence and promoted sex trafficking.

It is difficult to imagine but EVERY time I call a sweet, smiling and reassuring human voice comforts me and guides me thru the next step even if I've missed more than one appointment they are very understanding and accommodating. The staff which I've had the pleasure of dealing with all have given me confirmation that my needs are important and that they truly want to help. The counsellors validate my feelings and without any words are able to make me feel like they truly have my back" which has helped foster a trusting intimate relationship which I need at this very challenging time in my life. Thanks for being effortlessly awesome everyone!Shy"

This centre has taken a strong stance against dance. I am a doctor, and a professional athlete, and a pole dancer, and they illegally used an image of a pole dancer who happened to be my significant other and tried to slander the entire industry (and her) as supportive of Human Trafficking and abuse of women.I am greatly offended that they would do this, taking a picture of someone they don't know, and saying that the person and people who dance, are prostitutes who are promoting sex trafficking. How dare you?I have never stepped into a strip club, how could I be a prostitute? I have never done a strip dance, (well, maybe for my partner, but with utter failure). I have never performed in a way to objectify women, but I as well as my partner have been given a label as if we have? Specifically, using HER in your picture and meme to disclaim all sex trafficking? The picture was of a class. A private class. With no men in it. How is that objectifying the male gaze? A child might swing around a bar in the park, is that child suddenly a stripper? Attracting paedophiles? After commenting on their facebook group, this centre had the audacity to delete all comments opposing them, as well as banning any people who spoke out against them. This is all the evidence you should need. Shut these people down. They are just as abusive as the people they claim to protect. You have chosen to attack a large group of people simply exercising, or dancing for their own enjoyment and purposes. You might as well attacked anyone who does bicep curls.Shame on you.

This Centre operates under a highly discriminatory ethic system. They pick and choose which women to support based on irrational ideological mysoginistic notions and then center out and attack the groups of women they feel fit their profile . Use of profanity and social media misconduct has also been noted as a means to parasidically spread their propaganda . They are in no way cooperative or willing to engage in meaningful conversation to problem solve or educate themselves on current affairs involving women. This Centre needs a complete management overhaul an update in social skills and human relations .

The councillors have been so supportive and informative. I wish I realized I could still benefit from their groups long after leaving my abusive relationship. Once gone I thought I was done. Glad I continued now for with a clearer mind I was able to grow faster.

This organization still runs on the completely outdated notion that any woman who chooses to display her body or sexuality is anti-feminist. These people shame pole dancers and sex workers, saying that they are part of the problem of violence against women, which is absolutely abhorrent. The most sickening thing about this group is that they have no issues with censoring anyone who disagrees with them, as they ban and delete any comments criticizing them, thus silencing all of the women they seek to demonize.

Bad place, judgemental n prejudice. I was abuse n thrown in jail for false allegations. My exs made an allegations for which she’s not even home during those time because I have camera at home. Second of all, I pay my taxes n they took off $160/week outta my cheque. In 2021 had a black eyes when they came here, Chris from mission services saw my black eyes from her punching me, but they close their blind eyes. I am so disappointed as my family is teared apart, what’s worst is I can’t even do funeral as of my family member just passed in the states. I hope someone see this as I seek justice n willing to SUE this place for being ignorant, I know women right are the first, what about US MALE whose being abuse n lost dual sponsorship toward my licensing??by the way, I’m trying to get my licence for my children future so they got enough to feed. God bless n justice hopefully serves..

Organization promotes equality to only some women while tarnishing an entire group of women who have nothing to do with the sex trafficking industry. When confronted, they remove post, comments and band 100's of individual women, who otherwise would be allies. They also practice copyright infringements by stealing images to represent their organization. Shape on you LAWC. Since you won't listen, maybe your sponsors will! #takebackthenight #womensrighttochoose

By taking a stance against Take Back the Night due to their decision to feature pole dance, this organization has taken a stance which victim-blames women in sex work. In their statements, they have used an image without permission of an internationally acclaimed pole dancer; and when protests and comments supporting pole dancing as a medium of empowerment have arisen, they have deleted all comments and blocked users on social media. As a woman in the pole dance industry (please note that I am a recreational pole dance, not a stripper, but I stand in solidarity with strippers) I have found pole dancing to be a safe space to explore my own sensuality & develop athleticism. Pole dance as an industry is female dominated by a significant margin, including those consumers who watch pole performances, and the community seeks to build up strong women. Pole is BY women FOR women, and this organization's obnoxious unwillingness to allow us to speak for ourselves is an UNFEMINIST ACT. I support the mission to end abuse against women, but the London Abused Women's Centre has picked the wrong battle. #takebackthepole
