Exceptional customer service every visit. Have owned Makita brand for almost 20 years and have not regretted that decision. First, well after battery warranty expired, due to cycles battery replaced no charge, Second , 5\8 electric hammer drill had keyless chuck issue out of warranty, and was offered re-manufactured complete drill for less than repairs to old drill. Lastly, To-day brought in 2 batteries that would not charge, both well out of warranty. And again 1 because of duty cycles was replaced at no charge, other was original, almost 20 yrs old, so I did not expect it to be replaced! Totally fair company customer service, which is why I add Makita products to my tool collection.

Went there personally to get 2 of my 20v charger. I couldn’t get it repaired or get answers about what to do with it. Just felt undervalued and a total waste of time. Staff was not the friendliest either.

Service was just awful. I called several times, left a few voicemails. No one got back to me. Over a few weeks time - very determined to shop locally, I got a very unpleasant employee on the phone who was able to tell me they do indeed carry the part I needed but would be unable to sell me it. They recommended I shop elsewhere. I will be.

Just went in to get my chuck for my brushless drill fixed because it wouldn't stay locked when I spin it without a bit. I let them compare it to a new model and it's damaged but they wouldn't fix it. Don't bother to come here unless your tool is smoking or something. Service sucked. Waste of time.

During Covid, we expected better service from Makita!After being a Makita customer for 38 years (26 yrs at Whitby location) ..We were very disappointed today when our employee was given flack over not wearing a mask, even though he stated he had an exemption and followed the 6' social distancing rules (not to mention, the service manager at the Whitby location was wearing a mask and had access to a barrier as well). He was unaware of the Durham Health Department recommendations regarding exemptions and argued instead of making proper inquiries. We called Makita Canada to report this incident and spoke to Laurie, who was very professional and understanding. She referred us to their regional service manager who left us feeling very dissatisfied and battered. He denied any exemption was mentioned (took their employee's word before even hearing ours, so basically calling us liars). We referred them to view their surveillance video and although we were told it had no sound, we believe one could make out exemption" without having to be a lip reader. After all these years

Absolutely disappointed at Makita. Been makita loyal for 21 years but today will be the last day I will ever use or buy Makita. I bought a tool 2 months ago and bearing broke and I went to two makita dealerships. One quoted me $94 and the other one in Mississauaga quoted me $140 for only the same part. When online in the states same part is 15$ plus shipping!!! Absolutely disgraceful coming from Makita. If Makita wants us to throw the tool away rather than fix it they should just say it. Tool Costs $300 and the bearing costs 1/2 the price and takes me literally 30 seconds to change. My makita Js8000 lasted 1 month and a half. Very disappointed with the quality and service I got. Good bye Makita. Never again.

As someone who wanted to work here and made it to the interview stage, I found the place to be horrible. Interview questions were invasive (like some of the questions asked are illegal to ask) and not related to the job posting. The job has ridge hours, with no opportunity for flexibility, and if you didn't get the work done on time then something is wrong. No creative control (you are just told what to do with no explanation of the bigger picture) with the office being professional and quiet (most likely meaning there is no collaboration or communication between people, this could just be during the time I was there). The company also expects you to work there for at least 5+ years.If this is how they treat their potential employees I can't imagine how they treat their customers.
