Worked with Trever to salvage a 150 year old maple which had to come down. He skillfully used his Alaskan mill to harvest multiple beautiful slabs, which are now drying awaiting future projects. Trever lives lumber, and openly shared his knowledge to help me properly strategize the project and dry the slabs. A professional communicator and worker; would recommend.

Absolutely amazing! I had a behemoth urban tree that I had cut down a year and a half ago that no one wanted to mill but Trevor took on the challenge! He managed to salvage the majority of the large log and he was completely honest with what was worth milling and what was better sold as is. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained things thoroughly. His estimate was accurate and well worth it. This is definitely a guy you want to contact for milling!

Trever did a fantastic job milling our maple. His cuts were so consistent that I had no problem stacking all the live edge planks. He is also very knowledgeable and has lots of tips on drying the lumber.

We hired Golden Horseshoe Tree salvage to mill some logs from trees that were fallen in recent storms. Access to the yard was a challenge for conventional portable mills, so we needed some one who could use an Alaskan chain saw. Trevor was very helpful in helping us decide which logs were worth salvaging for wood working projects, and which were better suited to fire wood. We were able to salvage some black walnut cut into 2 slabs. He was also able to give advise on drying the wood and general safety - which we really appreciated. Highly recommend! I have had Trevor out a few times to mill some logs. He certainly knows what he is doing and makes an extremely hard task look easy! After investing in some equipment and trying milling personally, I would much rather have Trevor out to tackle any project as you know it will be done better then anyone else! Worth every penny to use his services!

After inquiring with Trever to have some trees milled and getting some pricing, we had decided to go with another company east that was much more pleasant to deal with. We found the owner to be a bit aggressive for us.

We had to have a 24 inch diameter Red Maple tree taken down in our backyard. The tree removal company did a great job, but I wanted to salvage some of the tree, if possible, for woodworking projects, so they left a good part of the trunk and part of one of the main branches behind. Home Depot doesn't rent chainsaw mills, so I had to find someone who does that kind of work. The internet finally led me to Trever at Golden Horseshoe Tree Salvage. He specializes in exactly my kind of situation: urban home owners with backyards that aren't accessible to heavy equipment, who want to recover some of their downed wood. He's located in the Guelph area and I'm in Hamilton, but I'm in his area of operations, so that was good. We agreed on a time (which did get changed due to really bad weather, but I didn't have a problem with that.)He was courteous and professional and we had a good conversation. I watched the process, which was interesting. I'd seen it done on Youtube, but never in person. From my description of the wood and a couple of pics, he estimated the cost and the amount of time it would take. He made a lot of noise and a lot of sawdust, but I got the wood I wanted which I will soon get off to a kiln to have dried. I would definitely recommend his service.

Little story for all of you. I had a huge maple tree on my property that we had to take down. We did not want the wood to go in the garbage so we decided to call a company to come in and mill it up for us. Trevor answered right away. He came on the day we discussed right at the time. He spent a few days here milling all the wood for us. I learned so much from him. We decided to start a live edge wood business. The Wood Shoppe on Mill Street. He was a big part in us deciding we could do this business. We called him back to mill up other trees for us. His work is excellent and he is very safety conscious.
