The Gardener - Peterborough

The best experience we have had keeping our driveway clear in a timely manner all winter long. I've been using professional snow removal for 20 years and The Gardener for the past 3 years. Far and away the best service and best job.

First year hiring this kind of service and was extremely disappointed. My lawn mower broke and we hired the Gardiner to look after the large front lawn we have. Inconsistent results every week.. sometimes it looked great.. other times it was terrible. The very last cut of the season I accidentally left my garden hose coiled near the side of my driveway. Instead of moving it or even letting me know by knocking on the door.. they decided to take the extra effort and actually cut around the hose leaving a ridiculous and noticeable long patch on my front lawn. It was border line hysterical as well as frustrating as I could not believe they left it in that state. We contacted the company and they had absolutely zero cares about our frustration. With no lawn mower I had to borrow the neighbours to finish the job. I have never left a review for anything before but this was such terrible customer service I felt a need to write this. We wrote a long email to the company when they sent us a renewal form advising them of our frustrations once again and only received “Thank you for your email, I will indicate that you do not require long services this season” signed the office manager.

Really great company. My driveway was cleared long before any others in my neighborhood, these guys must have been at it all night. Staff is friendly and knowledgable, the plow operators were really careful of my property and they had the best prices of all the places I called. Highly recommend.

The Gardener replaced and extended my front walk, added a walk down one side from sidewalk to house and down the side of the house to the backyard, completely redesigned and landscaped the back yard with flower beds, a paved area, stepping stones, including automatic watering and underground drainage, and top dressed and seeded both front and back yards.I have nothing but praise for everyone connected with this massive project. The crews were here every day, except one where it rained, and they all were polite, thoughtful and deliberate in their work, hardworking, and cheerful. When there was a misunderstanding about the width of the front walk (my fault for not checking my assumptions), they completely relaid that part of the walk within days, and made it even better than I had hoped. My front, side and back yards are now beautiful! I highly recommend The Gardener. Next year: the driveway.

Friendly and efficient staff, great prices and workmanship. The attention to detail made me feel like my property was in good hands. I fully intend to have them snowplow for me this winter.

Just received a quote for laying some sod in our backyard - approximately 1200 sq.ft. The quote was astronomical. Attempting to gouge people during a pandemic - a quick way to lose a lot of business in this town. No thanks.

I do not recommend this company! I would give this no star but had to give 1 in order for it to post. I received poor service & customer service was horrific! Weed control and fertilizer was not applied to total property (sides of property were neglected). I witnessed this when I was at home. Makes me question quality of service when I wasn't home!?!? When I complained to sales rep, I was basically told I was a liar. The second time complaining to customer service, I never heard back.

The Gardener have trimmed our cedar hedges for the past 4 years. They have done a great job. This year the team was exceptional good - professional, personable, competent, making sure they did the best job and addressed all my comments. Above all they did a super job gathering up all the cuttings. Well done and thank you.

I am not going to use The Gardener this year for snow removal. In the past two years, I have been left with either having to do it myself on many occasions or ask my neighbour for help as my driveway was too snowy to drive through.
