Would probably have bought some light hikers or boots as would my partner but alas this store seems to think staff are only needed downstairs in the Sportchek section. And even there in the late morning it was an impossible mission so we left without any purchases

I like this store but had a poor experience today. I’m purchasing five tents (for a non-profit, not for me). I’m calling around to see who has stock. I called Atmosphere, was transferred and left on hold with a mix of static and music. Eventually got tired of waiting, hung up and called again. Sales associate told me they don’t check stock over the phone, that they were busy with a customer, and I should come by the store and check the stock myself. Again, normally I like this store but it is not my intention to drive around from store to store randomly looking for these tents. I totally understand that the retail environment can be busy. I would have been happy if the associate simply took my name and number and called me back later in the day.

My recent experience was aweful! I tested a few items in fitting room and I didn't like any of them. Once I left the fitting room, the lady staff asked me and I told her that I didn't like any item. The she wanted to see inside of my bag (that was not a shopping bag)! Actually, she thought that I might try to steal something! Think about it! That's insanely disrespectful!! This happened with a lady staff on 15 of November 22 around 5:45 pm. Please try to teach your staff obvious stuff!I also want be fair and mention that before all of this happens, I had a very good experience with Atmosphere a year ago, when the staff at that time helped me find a very good pair of hiking shoes that worked perfectly well for me. I also bought two clothes at that time that have a very good quality and I'm still using it.

What a pleasant, memorable experience I had shopping at Atmosphere in Hillside Mall on Dec 27 2022.The gal who came to work on a crutch is one fantastic employee. Despite her physical limitation, she took the time to understand my request, then brought me relevant shoes. My foot size is in the extreme section of the bell curve so getting shoes that fit is always challenging, but she only brought me a few, out of which I found a couple that fit perfectly. I appreciate the assistance I received and bought two pairs, instead of only one, which was my original intent.

I had an incredible experience at Atmosphere thanks to Amir, an exceptional sales associate. I don’t often leave a negative review and struggled with the idea of only giving one star instead of two but … one it is. I went in to this location to return a set of boots I have bought 5 months earlier and had only worn on four hikes aside from breaking them in. I came to realize I’d have to go through the manufacturer at the return policy through atmosphere is only 90 days. That isn’t the reason I took the time to write this review.The reasons I’m annoyed is because my time has been wasted and I really haven’t been helped at all, that goes for the other times I’ve been to this location. This time the manager didn’t know how to quickly and effectively deal with her employees or organize the flow of customers. She was a poor communicator and when she had directed me to the side so the till could be used I told her I would go through the return process at home rather than stand in the store to contact the boot manufacturer. She asked me to stay insuring she wanted me to leave happy. I felt she gave me lip service and told me what I wanted to hear but did not follow through or even understand what she was saying, rather following some script. After another fifteen minutes of her and the young employee looking through the computer I realized nothing more was going to be accomplished. I politely left and told the young girl assisting me to have a nice day while the manager lingered in the background.I would like to say that the service I have gotten at the Nanaimo location far exceeds the service I have gotten in Victoria either time I have visited this location and probably won’t waste my time ever coming back to the hill side location for out door gear. Best go to the MEC location down town vic if you’re looking for experienced, knowledgeable professionals to assist you.

Great quality products!! But poor management. the staff are so lame! no greetings, not so keen helping customers!

I like this place. Good quality outerwear. Prices are a little high, but they have sales quite often.
