Close enough to Jasper but far enough to get that real car camping experience. They have everything you need and the views by the river are nice.

This is a very nice and large camping area that is conveniently located between the townsite of Jasper and several excellent hikes for veiweing glaciers. Within 10 minutes to the West there's the Edith Cavell glacier hike and 20 min to the East the Athabasca and Saskatchewan glaciers. Also 10min from the impressive Athabasca Falls. The site its self is very well maintained, has pleasant staff that were very attentive, and excellent washroom facilities that were clean and had flush toilets and Dyson Airblade hand dryers of all things! No showers. They provide all you can burn firewood for free. The lots are spacious and can easily fit 2 8-person tents and 2 vehicles. The area seems to have gotten hit with the pine beetle recently, but the remaining trees seem just right - enough to provide shade and atmosphere but not so many that you can't see the mountains.

Nice campground, but really far from Jasper village and no showers which is a shame for a nice place to camp. Prepare to drive 20 min from/to every single place around. Clean and good washrooms and nice space with some low trees. Pretty busy during summer time.

Such a beautiful camping. Bathrooms are great. Water is hot. Grass is soft for tents. Little trails in the grass to go to the bathroom. Free wood!

Wabasso sits right along the river, a little out of Jasper. Had a fire last year, so there aren’t as many trees in the sites. Incredible views, lots of firewood! I would definitely come back again!

I'm only going to give this a 2 because I really prefer privacy when I camp. Unfortunately, a lot of the trees were removed from the campground and some parts were very desolate.Beautiful location and had a gorgeous walk along the trail that runs between the river and campground. I stayed in loop A and it wasn't the worst. Mixed feelings.

This is a fantastic campground. We loved the privacy of our site. We stayed here for six days and saw lots of different people come and go and they all seemed friendly. The place clears out during the day as people are visiting sure in the park. There was a lot of wildlife around the campground but nothing problematic while we were in it. Our site could hear rushing water from the river and was a short walk from and incredible view. Also there were ranger programs four of the nights and they were fantastic. Why four stars? There is only electricity on one loop (we knew this, but it still was annoying) it was not super pretty in the campground, even though the hiking trail around it was incredible. Finally, it is about a 25 minute drive away from the main highway. The two other campgrounds are right on it. This added a ton of hours in the car to our trip, but it was very quiet.

Amazing campground. Affordable, electrical 30amp hookups, right on the Athabasca river, tons of walking trials, trees, CLEAN washrooms. We had a nice stack of wood waiting for us, which lasted our 3 nights. It was free, despite what other reviews have said.Only complaint is the electrical hookups seem to be really close to the road on all of the sites. Makes for awkward positioning for your trailer. Our site had roots and stumps where the trailer had to be placed which was annoying but we made it work. The campground is a little bit of a drive from town, but that makes it even better.

The firewood is not free as so many have posted. You are forced to pay $8.50 a day for a fire permit which i cant use due to severe asthma. Lake Louise allows you to opt out of paying a fire permit. AND for a parks Canada camp site not to have showers is extremely disappointing. My family of 4 had to sneak a shower at Whistlers campground (which has brand new spectacular facilities) cause we were all smelling gamey trapped in a small trailer. If it had showers and the optional burn permit then 5 stars. Great campground otherwise.
