Hertz Car Rental - Vancouver - Via Rail HLE

Took a rental couple of days ago , everything went well and we’re really nice. I told them and it’s on my rental agreement as well that I will be dropping of the vehicle on Sunday. They requested me very badly to drop of the vehicle in their location only , no where else.But not a single mention of their office being closed on Sunday. No instructions on where to drop the vehicle and keys. Now I am reading all the reviews of how they charge in credit card, for car missing, parking fees, damages and no real instructions on what to do when lot is full. I am not inclined to drop off the car in their location. For $15 Canadian I could drop off at the airport.They requested me badly because they said it’s difficult to get the car from that location. But , if they really wanted the car back at their location they should make it easy for the customers.I could pay a small fee to get my vehicle inspected and have peace of mind ..Not sure how they think it’s ok to not inform customers about dropping off after hours. Seems intentional and very sketchy.

guy there tried to scam by saying I have to return the car there and not the airport otherwise it’s 1000 dollar fine. I called hertz and there’s no such thing…

My car was in an accident. The repair company gave me a rental car. My car was in the shop for 6 weeks. When I went to return it, I asked if I had to clean it. I was told no. Then hertz just went and put a $300 cleaning charge without my approval on my credit card. I explained the situation to them and they refused to reverse the charge. I’m disputing it. I would not recommend using them or if you do be wary of unapproved charge at super high rates for the work

Charon is the man. Amazing customer service. Especially on a busy Saturday, when he's by himself. Only an employee has a lot of passion for his work

I had a good experience with them. I called before to confirm a car seat for my toddler and they managed the car seat for us. Also, I got a good deal at this location.

Rent the car for 2days and return on Friday but the office is closed. Very good customer service. No notice letter for office closing for car return customers. There is no instruction of how to return the car during office closing. only have the emergency contact number for after office hour but no one responded. We are waiting about 2 hours standing in front of the office and calling their office and emergency contact number and waiting someone to show up. Luckily because of the security at the building, we realise how to drop the car key into their office. Went to their office today and told them their office closure and no notice or instruction for us to drop the car key but we did it and asked them to confirm that they receive car and key and return deposit. Instead of apologise or giving customer polite response, they argue back and said they emailed us the invoice and return the transfer which we received nothing. Luckily that we stay in canada so we can go back and check whether they receive it or not but if we are coming from other countries, then how?? How can we return back their car and key? There is no instructions and their Google operation hour said it is open but on site it was closed. We can’t call anyone. Their fault will accuse us and make us pay extra charge?? This office has no professional protocol and manners. They just simply arrogant like a boss. They don’t even deserve with one star.

Had a great experience with RJ and Ayaan at this Hertz location. The check-in process was incredibly easy and painless. I was in and out with my vehicle in a timely fashion, and the team at the front desk was extremely helpful with answering all of my questions. The location is convenient especially if you're coming by skytrain. Will definitely be booking again.

I arrived at Vancouver via Amtrak and booked an SUV at this location for convenience. Due to mostly negative reviews I was prepared for a disappointing experience and I was not wrong. Apparently I had dual booking for an SUV. They took a long time to process my Driver license and even scanned my credit card. When it was time to get the keys, another dude came over and said we were confused because of your dual booking so we didn’t kept a car for you and offered me a pickup truck!! A simple email or a phone call would have helped given that I made this reservation many weeks in advance. Luckily, I made a reservation with Avis, took an uber to nearby downtown location and had a very painless and pleasant experience. Walked out in a few minutes with a BMW X3!!Also, can someone from Hertz management advice people working at this location to use deodorant? It was unbearable to stand there.

Full disclosure, I have Hertz Gold so my experience may be atypical. Plus, I live nearby and this is the most convenient location to rent from. That gets bonus points.It's clear that the team here is trying to improve customer service over the 6 months or so. The staff is courteous, the check-out process is fast, I've never had to line up yet, and they actually do a proper walk-through and sign-off.Returns are more challenging. The last time I returned the car the lot was full, and construction in the area reduced overflow parking. I had to call emergency services to find an alternative drop-off location which took an hour or so to resolve. While the construction is out of their control, they should be aware that the overflow parking isn't available and provide a viable drop-off location. But they did give me a credit for the inconvenience, and I appreciate that.Once the return parking issue is sorted, and if they continue with the good service, I won't hesitate to revise my review to 5-stars. Especially in comparison to other rental agencies near downtown Vancouver.
