Some may think Peggy's Cove is the most popular lighthouse in Nova Scotia. But Western light still has the rugged beauty that Peggy's Cove had lost.

Amazing views, great place to catch a sunset. Had the fortune to see some seals playing in the water. Very windy when we went, dress warm!!

Road is a little rough in a few places, but the view is beautiful. If you are on the island, this was worth taking the time to see

This is also known as the Western Light and the most westerly spot in Nova Scotia. A great place to jump on the rocks and breathe in the fresh air of the ocean. There are a lot of crevices to explore and the rocks are 'grippy'. However, it is highly recommended that you stay off the black rocks as this indicates that those rocks are slippery and/or could experience unexpected waves. The lighthouse itself is almost 60 feet tall but not much to get excited over.

Serene, magical, and an amazing view of the majestic Bay of Fundy. Worth the long drive and two ferry rides (not to mention the ride down the long dirty road). We saw seals, eagles, and amazing waves. A picturesque location and very private at times. Good for a photo shoot!

Actually been here before, a long, long time ago. Not much has changed - which is good. Only a few other cars and we barely saw another person. Peaceful. Quiet. Cool ocean breezes. Nice!

Beautiful and serene! Only spotted gulls but it was nice to see them all in couples instead of a mob.

Beautiful. Gravel road out there, but well maintained. The only knocks are 5 are no plaques or other signage talking about the history of lighthouse, and you can't go in. The latter makes sense since you would need someone staffed there, and I imagine it isn't very busy. At least it wasn't the day I was there. I was waiting for family on the whale watch tour and figured something named Lighthouse Road might have a lighthouse, and I was right. I just wish there was more info about the place. It is a great view and a great place to take pictures. There are hiking trails that start or end at the Lighthouse.

If you haven't already done so you must visit this beautiful spot. You can have a picnic or camp for the night and the scenery will certainly not disappoint. We traveled here while waiting for our whale watching tour and we will definitely be going back to spend the night. Be kind to nature here and please don't leave any garbage behind. We love Nova Scotia's beauty and want to keep it that way.
