I've been to EXIT Burnaby twice for The Mummy and Digitized. Overall, we had a lot of fun - we've done about 3 escape rooms (different companies in Edmonton and Whistler) in the past and these ones at EXIT Burnaby had good variety.I would've given 5 stars if all the puzzles worked...One of the puzzles for The Mummy was a little off and the staff had to help us - no spoilers so I won't mention which one, but the staff said that it's a little sensitive, even though we had the correct approach. For Digitized, I really enjoyed the creative puzzles and skill-based problems. My one big gripe was that we completed all the puzzles until the very last one when the staff member had to come in to reset it. We were so disappointed because we only needed 1 hint up until that point. We were having so much fun until that last puzzle. It really put a damper on the whole experience.Staff were super friendly and very helpful. I'm on the fence about returning to try the other 2 rooms.

We enjoyed doing an escape room for Family Day. It was lovely that they gave a discount for Families on Family Day. We were unable to complete the room in the allowed time, staff gave us a few extra minutes to work out some final puzzles and then came in and walked us through the final puzzle so when we left we were not discouraged. Very kind and thoughtful staff.

OMG this is the most fun we had in a long time!I can't wait to come back more often and try all the other rooms!Tristan was super helpful, witty, and just wonderful! He made our day!If you don't carry cash, make sure you leave a tip for the staff before the game because you will not be able to leave it afterwards and you're going to need help ;)Update! We tried the Egyptian room and that was super awesome! The two lovely ladies at the front desk were so helpful and fun. Staff is great here! Everything is so ingenious and well made.We can't wait to try the other two rooms!!!

As someone who did a lot of escape rooms in the past I must say this was one of the worst ones I did. I won't mention which room I did but it followed a lot of bad practices when it comes to escape rooms, to name a few: use of math, going back to previous area(s), having to call the operator into the room for clues and a scavenger hunt. The room design is simplistic and lacks creativity. The operator was nice and friendly. I will try to avoid going here in the future but it will be hard given the lack of good options in the area.

We had an Amazing time! The girls who worked there were so helpful and kind to us! I went with 2 kids and they had a blast with the puzzles and clues. A very fun activity to do if you like a challenge!

Had an experience with the arcade style one. Very interactive and kept us busy & thinking.Overall the experience feels much lower quality then other places.Puzzles/rooms made of spray painted plywood with quality that seems like someone made them at home on a weekend for a couple bucks. Real damage/holes in the room walls, dirty warn/clearly damaged props. No real refinement or upkeep that you would expect from a company with multiple locations. Also the help system felt awkward, most escape rooms give you a walkie-talkie to ask for hints as needed. This location has you walk to the start & press a button and the entrance and wait for a staff member to physically enter your game and walk to your problem. To me this very much breaks the immersion…Maybe I’m too picky, but you need to up your quality a bit.(staff super helpful, no knock on them)

Go for the more difficult levels if you want to lengthen your stay, easier ones can be best well before the time limit

My friend took me to The Mummy room yesterday for my birthday. Neither of us have been to an escape room before, so we didn't know what to expect, but it was a lot of fun!I didn't realize (I don't think this is a spoiler) there would be more than one central area to explore, I thought escape rooms were all one contained room and you took it all in at once, then unlocked different aspects of the same room. So it was a pleasant surprise the way it unfolded and expanded. For 2 middle aged dudes who never did an escape room before, we did pretty well. We didn't escape but we got to the last puzzle before an employee had to help us finish so the next group could play. But we went over our timeframe and they let us work at it longer than our allotted reservation time, so I really appreciated that. We also never asked for any hints (not counting the aforementioned walk through at the end to help us complete the story and exit) so I think we did okay for a 3/5 difficulty. The facilities were clean, the reservation process was simple and the staff were extremely pleasant and professional.I do have a couple comments in general, but certainly nothing that would merit going down a star in my rating:1- It was just a little too dark. If we had a third person to hold the flashlight while we were doing puzzles, it would have made a huge difference. I was extremely tempted to hold the flashlight in my mouth a several points (don't worry, I didn't) but it was hard to make notes using different clues and hold a flashlight. (I did really appreciate the amount of flat surfaces to spread the clues out on!)2-The volume of the parts where you have an impact on the environment or unlock something was quite low. Each time we were both uncertain if we actually did hear anything or if it was the air conditioning kicking on.3-And finally, I found it hard to get involved in the story because I was just trying to beat the clock. That's definitely a me-problem" tho. I can't imagine I'll get too involved in any storyline when I'm anxiously trying to succeed in a hurry.A little advice to anyone who is going to play this room

Went in with a group of six and had a lot of fun! We did only get to do the easiest room and escaped fairly quickly but it was overall a great experience. Staff was very friendly, and we will definitely be back to try the other rooms!

We had a great time trying to solve the Horcrux room. We interacted with 3 staff members while there and they were all great. Quite friendly and very helpful. Since no one had the room booked after us they allowed us to continue to solve the puzzle. We will definitely be back.
