Excellent place with people who really care about others necessities. They are real angels given meals, shelter and love. God bless then all!!!

Kick people out in the morning, no place to store so much as a toothbrush. Absolutely not helping people get back on their feet. Forces humans into helpless dependent ego fodder. One star for at least not letting them freeze to death, but this is not how we should be taking care any but the most temporary of homeless.I wish we could make this place obsolete.

A couple years ago, I was awaiting a birthday package from my grandmother which was sent to the Herb Jamieson since I didn't have a proper mailing address as I was homeless. The package was to include a Marks Work Warehouse gift card, which I desperately needed since the shoes I was wearing were falling apart. About a month from her sending it passed and despite checking in with staff every day, I was told no package had arrived for me. I got concerned so I had my grandmother forward me the shipping information including tracking number, which I looked up, and found clear as day that the package was indeed recieved by staff at the Herb Jamieson.I ran off a print of the tracking information, and brought it there that evening. The woman behind the counter rudely brushed me off saying no package had arrived, threatened to keep the -copy- of the shipping information, and threatened to kick me out when I told her I'd be consulting Hope Mission management in the morning. Luckily an immediate supervisor who understood that mail theft is an actual crime overheard the exchange and quickly produced my package from a back room. These people don't care about the rights of homeless people.

Nice staff, specially 8 am to 8 PM. Showers, meals across the street.

It's a good that it's around for anyone who've been displaced or needs a reality check or those who are genuinely unlucky. However the staff are trained to believe everyone who stays is most likely a criminal or drug addict and are unable to make important judgement calls.I was treated as such in my quest for employment. I secured a job at a bar as a cook where I needed a late pass. To get it you must allow the shelter to contact your employment{!}.. Of course not the best way to get off on the right foot to declare that sort of thing. This would've been okay with me if it were a labor job but as it was I'm working with food and so maintaining a clean image is paramount . The first two shifts I came back and I explained this sensitivity to them, dressed in full kitchen regalia with my staff meal , kitchen knives and tools in tow, exausted from my long bus ride very late.Unfortunately I received no sympathy from both staff and supervisor and was informed I lost my bed would be booked out. Need to line up to get my bed back at 7pm. I explained it was not possible since I started at 5pm until 2 am they told me if I wasn't willing to let them stick there nose in with my employer, then I'd have to stay at the Hope Mission. For those that dont know you have to leave super early 6:30 am.I lost control at that point and I loudly berated them and banged my fist on their plexiglass bubble then stormed off. I was barred for 1 month. I struggled for more than a week pulling near all nighters. Sometimes I slept in some really awkward places. Some days I went to work feeling very sluggish. When I finally secured my room out of my pocket, I lost my job the very next day due to too many times being late. If they only knew how these so called Christians put me through hell and back.. comes down to simple mindedness and ignorance. You will be assisted and the men's shelter is a good thing as long as you abide the rules and show humility. Be sober and do not cause disturbances. I followed there rules to a tee.If you are going to try and find work though you might want to be a little more selective about shift times and type of work, or else submit to a personal invasion. Good luck to anyone staying there and reading this.

They treat people like inmates, a few items went missing ( they didn't seem to care) I found myself in a odd situation in life and needed their help.... Misleading, outdated information for food and needs, not cool. They have a system that makes people not want to leave, least they lose their bed. Then get told to go out and do things. I will now rather sleep outside than go back. Just being honest. Please fix this, ASAP PS: Staff actually took 2 chargers from my bag. Why? To slow me down and keep me around? Sillyness I say. Can't prove, but they did accidentally give themselves away. LoL

Can’t speak about the shelter, can say that I wanted to give a crib that was in excellent condition away and rather than wanting to help out a person or suggesting a organization, they wanted it to go to Value Village.

Helped me in my hour of need. Got me away from sharing camps by the river with folks who will turn on you for a bag of chips. Those who genuinely wanted their help seemed to get it. And a few self entitled folks had themselves evicted. I had warm cot to sleep on, and meals right around the corner. It made a world of a difference as I continued to get back on my feet again. I can't help but shake my head at those who speak ill of this place. It makes me think they were the ones who simply couldn't follow their rules.

Not a hostel not a homeless shelter its A harboring station for those who don't want to move on full of people abusing the system any normal person can see that...Teresa and Cain awesome people the rest of the staff needs to learn proper English and how to deal with people there attitudes are rotten was there not even 15 min had to leave cuase the ignorance of other staff and clients. im a very unstable mind right now trying to get help I went from being 5 out 10 calmness to extreme 100 over 10 very quickly with other staff but of course they will say its my fault because they can't admit there in the wrong and then they refuse to provide you anything .Cain and Teresa were very professional calm and made you feel like your doing the right thing need more staff like that there to bad im so volatile to deal with all the other ignorance now im still lost and even more volatile
