A few weeks ago, I was painting our wood siding at our house. I went to a big box store in Collingwood to buy paint brushes and asked about whether I should use caulking on some of the joints or not. The person had no idea and in fairness, she was not given proper training. I left the store and came to Home Hardware on High St. Not only did I get friendly service but the salesperson also made a few good suggestions on caulking and paint brushes. We enjoy shopping at this store and we won't be shopping anywhere else.

I highly recommend shopping here. They're very helpful. Prices are equivalent or better than the big box This store has a great gift section as well!

**Worst Experience Ever! Avoid this store!** I bought a socket set, only to realize we already had one at the cottage. When I tried to return the $90 purchase and buy a $600 firepit, the Returns staff said they didn't want these products any more, and only offered to return it for less than 1/2 the price. When I asked why, pointing out there return policy doesn't state they will only accept returns for a lesser price, the young lady became rude and said, We don't want these products. I could play the time card as this is outside of 30 days ...". I repeated her "play the time card?" statement is utter disgust

Always great friendly service and great selection of pretty much everything. Locally owned is always a plus.

Great experience with my unexpected purchase of an entertainment unit while I went in to talk about paint for future purchase. The paint rep. Paul was extremely accommodating with the purchase of the unit as well as advising me on the paint for my apartment. Went back 4 days later to purchase paint and Paul remembered my name. This was impressive to me and his personable disposition is commendable. The front of the store cashiers were also friendly and professional.

Its unfortunate that one bad manager (Derrick) can taint an entire business but he certainly has. After purchasing a $100 frying pan with a massive gaping hole in the cast iron handle we were told he would not refund it (it was unused still in original packaging) and repeatedly told that some cooking oil is good enough to fix it.The manufacture of the frying pan aggress with us but says its up to the store to replace but was nice enough to call the store back for us.They were so disgusted with Derrick's behavior they said they would sort it on their end and told us not to call the store back.Ive spent 10's of thousands of dollars at this store as I want to support Canadian business, this however is unacceptable and the new deck and fence I'm building this summer will be purchased reluctantly from Home Depot.

Very disappointing experience today at this Collingwood Home Hardware. Went to buy 4 outdoor chairs I’d seen online. They were stored outside and very dirty/stained. The helpful salesperson got vinegar and tried to remove stains without success. We went home, got a cleanser and cloths, returned to the store and cleaned them successfully, with the salesperson. I wanted to be sure they could be cleaned before purchase. I went to pay and asked for a discount to allow for the poor condition of the chairs and our efforts. Chairs were $179 each, on sale last week for $159. Grace period for the sale price ended Saturday; this was Monday morning. The store manager Ian said NO discount at all. He refused to honour the sale price, which I do understand, and I then asked for any discount. He flatly said no and turned away a sale of 4 chairs for $720, when any discount would have meant a sale. Poor business practice. And Ian, don’t fault the salesperson for helping when we brought cleanser. She understands customer service
