MRI & Pain Management - Welcome Back Clinic

What a shame that only the very rich can afford these types of consultations, scans, and treatments. The prices here are beyond what the average Joe can afford and sadly us Joe’s only alternative is to wait sometimes over a year just for the MRI alone through BC Medical. As someone on a disability pension, and thinking this clinic would be a Godsend for horrific pain that has really destroyed my quality of life, there is no way I could afford even the first consultation ($600), let alone an MRI ($1000 per body part) etc etc on $850 a month. Terrible that getting answers, having less or no more severe pain and having a better life in a short time is unattainable for the majority.

Dr Brownlee pain clinic is no less than a miracle came here from ON in a wheelchair and the plane ride was excruciating , returning to ON the day after walking without strife I would recommend him and all of his staff to anyone suffering, I have spent the last year and a half bedridden and the day after I feel like I could run a marathon. Just so sad I had to go through this when there are doctors out there who truly care. His mannerism and the atmosphere could not be any better ThK you Linda for expediting my appointment and ThKs to Dr, Brownlee,s ass,t who even went out of his way to get me back to my motel as even a block was not negotiable before the treatment in the afternoon, you truly are heroes. Amazing place ! They gave me my life back a few times . I get the rhizotomy done and without this I cannot work so its a game changer. The staff remember me every time I come back . Great place I highly recommend.

Excellent clinic, we got an MRI appointment quickly and the results very fast.

Worst service. I do not feel they care about the patients and way overpriced. The admin is also not on top of it. Bad attitudes stay away

A great group of people. Dr Brownlee performed a Rhizotomy and I probably am improved 70 per cent. A great guy to deal with. The whole office is nice. James

A word of caution regarding the claims about sitting and watching tv during your MRI, and no claustrophobia - I'm sure that's true for some procedures, but my experience was very different.I was placed standing sideways, with my shoulder (complete rotator cuff tear) against the machine, separated from my body by a plastic divider. I was then pivoted into the machine to the point where I was lying directly with all my weight on my injured shoulder. I couldn't do this in bed for 5 seconds without pain and discomfort, but was expected to do so for 45 minutes with complete immobility with my arm braced in a rigid box and with a hard piece of plastic digging into my bicep (I had deep indentations after the scan that were clearly visible 4 hours later). There was approximately 6 of clearance between the machine in front of my face and behind my head

I travelled to Kamloops from Calgary for the Upright MRI and consult with Dr. Brownlee in 2019. His neuro exam was very brief. I've had many neuro exams over the 7 years of my neurovestibular dysfunction, so I know when Doctors are just walking through the motions. He explained that my MRI was normal, and that was it. A few days later, I received the radiologist's report, and it had many notes that I didn't understand. I had to email back and forth to get an explanation. Even if they're considered fine, they still should have been explained.After consultations with other clinics, I've now learned that hardly any Neurosurgeon relies on upright MRI scans. The quality of the pictures is much less because the MRI is a lower Tesla. As well, the positioning of the patient in flexion/extension isn't performed in a standard/best manner. My NS used my supine MRI to make cervical ligament measurements. Other practitioners prefer a DMX study (digital motion xray).I always expect that meeting a new practitioner might bring new information. This clinic was just not the right fit for me.
