Ramada by Wyndham Ottawa On The Rideau

Very strategically located motel with easy access to downtown, the west end and the Ottawa Airport. Its also beside the Rideau River which was cool. Overall, the staff were pleasant and rooms were quite adequate and we were happy with our stay. Of note, there's not much to walk to that's close by and there aren't many sidewalks if this is a consideration.

We arrived at the hotel after midnight and the staff was quick to check us in and gave us our room key. The front desk and restaurant staff were friendly, and room the room was clean. There were parking lots next the rooms which is similar to cottages. The lake behind the hotel was frozen, so there was not much of view. The breakfast menu was simple, but not bad. Turning left to the hotel was not convenient due to oncoming traffic and no center lane on the road.

Stayed here from 04/04/2023 - 04/06-2023Not pleased.Firstly, the first room I was checked in,smelled odd, left my feet black, and the bathroom made me gag. Toilet looked barely washed, and why don’t you guys offer that cleaned & hasn’t been used toilet seal? Didn’t feel like using anything to be real with you.Unexpected delay with my flight the next day so I extended my stay, they told me I had to switch rooms by force so there goes another 200$ out my hand…This room (the third building) was better, you could tell it had been cleaned a bit better. From 11am till God knows when, the people upstairs were walking TERRIBLY LOUD. Like, you live with your landlord and you haven’t paid his rent for two months so now he’s spitefully stomping like the elephants from the Lorax LOUD. Literally had to call to complain about that. Oh and the power went out. I try getting in contact with front desk because HOURS have gone bye and there is no emergency lights whatsoever and I receive attitude over the phone? The power has now been out for not one, not two, or three but FOUR HOURS???? And you have the audacity to get mad at ME? Learn patience with your guests. My review still isn’t done so let’s see if I have more to say. Worst 36 hours of my life.

This was one of the nicest and beautiful hotels I've stayed at in a really long time.I felt very safe and everything was very clean. Front desk was great. Overall just a really good place to stay and the views are beautiful.Highly recommend for anniversaries/couples.

Spent a night here during first week of May. Front desk was friendly n welcoming. They kind of self upgraded me to a river view room possibly because of ongoing on site construction activities. I hope those are finished by now because that kind of spoiled my overall experience here. The parking was a mess n obviously due to construction, dust was imminent. (Ramada had mentioned about it clearly on their website so this was a learning for me)The location is pretty far from downtown Ottawa specially if someone is visiting for a day, better to stay near downtown. Overall location is possibly good, they continuously seem to be upgrading n renovating the site. They are building the dock, patio etc which shows they are investing in improvements.The room itself seemed to be upgraded. They had tried to add as many amenities aa possible. Had a two double. Cleaning can be better guys cleaning should be better. Floor was renovated to a vinyl. Bathroom seemed to be renovated as well but the odd part was the wash sink was installed outside the main washroom area, hence it was in the open, n accessible for the wrong guests i.e children. I was traveling with a crawling infant hence I had to be very careful. The riverview was somehow not a great delight probably because we couldn't sit outside in the small balcony attached to the room (because of the construction). Breakfast was decent. Overall value for money could be improved.

I came to Ottawa for work, and the company provided this location for our team to stay. I couldn't have chosen a better place. Kristine, the manager, always goes above and beyond, and Charles from the front desk is a long-time friend who takes care of everything for us. The entire team is always accommodating to our needs. They have a beautiful garden for us to enjoy, along with a lovely newly renovated deck. Plus, most of the rooms offer a beautiful view of the Rideau Canal.

We booked a regular room and got an upgrade with a Jacuzzi jet tub in our room. Awesome. Great view of the water. Wish the hot tub had longer hours open on the weekends

Plenty of parking, lots of pillows - small yet plenty, love the separate heating in the bathroom making it warm & toasty, comfortable beds, and the hotel was kind to let us check out an hour after their usual time!The room had a small tub which was a rare bath treat, and while there was no super hot water, plenty warm to enjoy a bath and to shower.There was a blood stain on the bed cover, dirt around the toilet seat and in many corners of the room. The shade curtains has holes in areas and though I was told all rooms were non smoking, the room reeked of smoke.It was not easy to access the room. You either had to walk up very icy and rickety stairs outside - the rooms were in a separate building from their main building - or walk up two flights inside, then walk along a crooked outside cement corridor to get to the room.The door to the building was unlocked so not secure, you had to walk down two flights to access ice, & the tv should be upgraded to a smart tv for this day & age.Their room service consisted of ordering from their restaurant and then you have to walk to the main building to pick up. No sidewalks and plenty of icy on the road.My husband tried their breakfast one of the two mornings the room was booked - included in our reservation, and found it very lacking.The mini fridge did not have a freezer portion to it, and the door’s weather stripping was mostly pulled away from the door, hanging so letting in significant cold air.This hotel is close to amenities and I was there for two nights prepping for a surgical procedure and it was less than a km from the clinic, so very convenient.Paid almost $330 for two nights stay for a 2 x double bed room with supposedly a ‘garden view’. Your view is actually of one of the other room buildings.

My husband and I attended a family wedding this New Year Eve, December 31, 2022. The owners did a fantastic job, there was an afternoon tea with very nice appetizers and we were given tickets for a drink. The reception room was very unique and decorated beautifully, the dance floor had the Bride & Grooms initials on it! I believe we were about 60 people, dinner was 5 courses with wine pairings, Marlon did a wonderful job choosing the wines. The first appetizer was a Provençal encrusted lamb chop, delicious! The evening was well organized and the room decorated like a fairytale. We stayed the evening in a Deluxe room with 2 double beds, I liked that our renovated room had laminate flooring as the Hotel is pet friendly and I have allergies. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Our other family members were in older rooms and not as pleased as us but I am under the impression more renovations are planned. The next morning, New Years Day we attended a brunch with the wedding guests and once again the food was delicious, unique items and the service was excellent, more kudos to Marlon and his wife. If you are looking for a wedding venue for 2023 I highly recommend meeting Marlon and having a discussion!
