Budget Car Rental

Most of the reviews are pretty old and as a matter of convenience I gave Budget a try. I didn't have a reservation and I was in and out after my list of questions were answered clearly and professionally within 15 mins. Michael the Budget team member working saw my US drivers license and wished my wife and I a happy late Thanksgiving, which no one else in Canada did! Michael provided a great customer experience and as part of that gave me a free upgrade and not just a regular type of upgrade, he hooked it up! I didn't ask for the upgrade or really need the upgrade but it was nice to have the extra leg room! Michael recommended that I drop the car off at the airport which was only a $10 additional charge, but it saved me $45 dollars because the going rate for a cab ride to the airport is $55! So if you're in the same situation make sure you select the airport as the drop off location. And the drop off at the airport took a matter of seconds! My whole experience with Budget was a surprise based on the previous comments, I encourage you to do yourself a favor and to give them a look at the very least for the rate comparisons if you need to rent a car in Toronto. If I return to Toronto and need a car I will be giving Budget a call.

The staff is friendly once you get there...Bad service. I waited over 35 minutes for their shuttle from the airport , it never showed. I had to take a taxi there, because nobody was answering the phone(4 calls)So... it is not AT Billy Bishop airport but a 10 minute drive away, ans it appears from the reviews , the shuttle is really unreliable. Will NOT deal with this company again

Extremely rude and condescending employees. I have rented cars from this specific location a handful of times and after being treated so poorly I will absolutely not go back to this Budget. I will travel across the city to find a car rental if it means avoiding the employees of this location, who constantly seem annoyed with customers, disrespectful toward them, and disinterested in their needs.

Horrible experience with their service. Their sales associates as well as their customer service are not helful and they lie. There is no consistency. They promised us a refund as they had made a mistake on our transaction. Later on when we called they said the person you talked to does not exist. We ended up paying double for their mistake. Horrible experience!!!

Be very careful with the cleaning fees and tolls service fees. We were lucky we read that they would charge a cleaning fee and we cleaned the car before we returned it. However, we unfortunately took a wrong turn and ended up paying a toll. They charged a $17 service fee for one toll!

Arrived at the Toronto downtown airport, looking for place to pick up my rental car. No signs, no indication of how to get the car. Called Budget and navigated through automated voice system but could not get number of this location. Used Google on my mobile phone to get the number. Had to take cab to this location, and this amount was deducted from my rental. Had to do the same on the way back although the cab fare back to the airport was not covered. Car was clean. Staff was relatively friendly. Needed receipt later and they faxed it to me right away. Overall, some good, some bad, so rating is only 3 stars.

There is no way to talk to the actual people at this location !!!

The short line went quick because the staff was efficient.

Worst service. Didn't accept my international full driving license, because they saw g1 license as well. Explaining the process of switching from international license to Ontarian didn't help. Staff just told that something must be wrong

Worst rental service of canada.I will suggest don't take cars from this location.They are just scamsters,there is a bald man at reception, he is the rudest person I have ever met.Kindly ignore this place.Lost my money 350$
